David Duval made a great point when he said 6 months ago he couldn’t swing a club. Part of the change in crowd on a Sunday is due to the course getting smaller after the leaders tee off. You start with a crowd that can spread out on 18 holes. By the time Tiger was on 17 there only 4/5 holes with active golf.

Of course. Who doesn't want to follow Tiger but when he dunked into 17 it was over.
I've been to a lot of majors when they are in the Northeast. I only go now on Thursday or Friday because of the shrinking course.
Will be at the US Open Wednesday practice and Thursday first round. Was at Shinnecock Hills in 2004 for the Thursday Friday rounds. Hope they don't burn the course again. I think the USGA learned a lesson from that year. It was brown by Friday.

Spieth can't find the path with his putter, right now. Tiger's weakness that cost him a win and maybe two earlier in the year, the short irons, were his strength this week, save for the one that came up short at 17. 14 was a bit unlucky, another foot and he's over the false front. Fun to watch him working to fine tune all aspects of his game. But the one thing that's sticking out is he's not starting tournaments well and he's not finishing them, either. Still a ways to go...

I noticed on tv that Simpson was playing the back nine in front of relatively small galleries. Crowd was ahead watching Tiger.

When Tiger decided to play Valspar this year they had to open 2 additional parking lots, hire more volunteers and instruct vendors to bring more food and drink to handle the addl crowds. He moves the needle in a big way.

Given how closely you obviously follow my posts, I'm surprised you didn't read the rationale I posted in the "send the football board OTs back" thread for why I'm posting on both boards. I also posted it once in the spring game weather thread that got deleted. I'll post it here, again, at the risk of having a few folks getting their panties in a bunch as happened previously.

It's pretty simple, really. Loyalty to John is why I originally made the switch, even if most others ended up not doing so - I assumed many to most would also make the switch. I was obviously wrong on that - didn't realize the importance of the board technology to many and underestimated general inertia to change.

I'm posting more here, again (I never said I was completely leaving) because obviously most of the community didn't move and I enjoy the interactions with and vibrancy of this community. So now I'm posting on both boards, which I guess I'll have to live with - I'd prefer there to be a single board for all RU fans (same thing happened when the other board splits happened), but that's not a realistic outcome at this point.

That's exactly what I said on page 1, that a 100% healthy Tiger would get back in the top 5 and win a few tourneys, including possibly a couple more majors, but that he would likely never be dominant again, like he was. I think he's well on the way to that.

And Cali is already way wrong on what he projected back on page 1, when he said that, "A healthy Tiger is a mid tier golfer now. He will make cuts, but not seriously contend. Certainly not over a 4 day period or season." All he has left is to hope that Tiger doesn't win a major.

You need to adjust your sarcasm meter. You were the one who "noticed" my posts, so I made a sarcastic comment about following me. I also don't see you giving anyone else grief about going to John's site and then coming back to some extent when people ended up not posting there that much. In fact, quite a few made a splash posting there a few times, never to go back, whereas I do post regularly there on both the football and premium boards.
