Devils are most likely playoff bound and all we still hear about is the Rangers Re-Build in the Tri-State Area! Lets hope the Devils can get the Rock at least half full for the playoffs.....
Thanks for chiming in.

If the Rangers move to Nashville, would anyone notice?:sunglasses:

Here come the attendance shots again. LOL. That’s when you know the Devils are back!

There will be no trouble getting the Rock full for the Playooffs.

MLB Extra Innings is free for the next few days for the start of the season. Since Extra Innings and Center Ice share the same channels, Center Ice is free too. Watching Devils/Pens right now. Good game so far.

The rock was rocking last game and it was a weeknight against the hurricanes. This team is exciting and playing meaningful games right now. Interest is trending up

Is anyone actually talking about the Rangers rebuild? I haven't heard it.
That sorry-*** franchise has been rebuilding since their glorious 1995 cup victory. And before that .....well we all know it only took 54 years to find the right pieces. It comes with playing in the garden ( real men don't play in gardens!) the place only has losers as tenants. The knicks, st.johns, and the rags. As far as the people who waist there time going, they only go because the tickets are given to them by some company in town. Put those three teams somewhere else and people would find something better to spend their time doing like putting pins into their pupils instead of watching the crap at the worlds biggest bunch of losers arena!

I was OK with the ties.

What I HATE with a passion is that some games are worth two points and others are worth three.

Make each game worth three points.
- Win in regulation and you get all the points.
- Tied after regulation, both teams get one point. The gimmick/skills competition decides the final point (whether the 3 on 3 or shootout).

I don't like that teams can be incentivized in a game tied late to play for a tie. Make going to OT be viewed as a lost point.
The fact that the NHL's primary reason for not moving to this system, despite massive agreement by pretty much everyone that it's way better, is because of concerns on how this would change the record book, that should tell you all you need to know.

Not sure if you have read this but I found it interesting. Two years they did the analysis resulted in no changes. https://thehockeywriters.com/why-changing-the-nhl-point-system-is-pointless/

The issue I see with it is the standings. You would have 4 components to the standings which is pretty ugly.

The Devils give out more free tickets then Rutgers does to try and fill the place!

But on a funny side, trying to make my hockey playing kid a Devils Fans so we can actually afford to go to multiple games a season!

Yes , yes I have been following them as they are in the same division as the real team ( your New Jersey Devils) in the area. I have also been following them (and every other team in their division) to enjoy their demise! Watching them lose is as much fun as watching a good war flick or visiting a historic site in N.J. of which I have always enjoyed!

What is really funny is how many free tickets are given to people to get them into msg to see the rags. Thank god all those companies in nyc get tickets to keep clients entertained. And entertaining in a very sad way for rag fans and funny as can be for all the other fans of the NHL!

Yes you are right, I started watching 2 weeks ago! That's right I caught playoff fever, something the rags gave up on after they wrote their now famous " we quit on our fans again" letter about a month ago.

Quite a month it's been. Team looked dead in the water before the road trip from hell.

And now they're almost certainly playoff bound, barring a complete collapse and Florida winstreak.

Fun times ahead.

The writing was on the wall that what they were doing was not working.... No problem with a rebuild, It's called what you do in the NHL today!

I believe your team has done it the last few years and it seems to have worked!

But keep bashing the Rangers and what they are doing, you are proving my point!

Panthers have 2 games I hand. Devils still control their own fate though .

While they were definitely an advantage a week ago, the Panthers games in hand have now become a liability. They have 5 games in 7 days, which is just a grind and includes 2 games against Boston and 1 against Nashville.

FLA vs. Car
FLA vs. Nash
Off
FLA vs. Bos
Off
FLA vs. Buf
FLA @ bos

Devils have a 7 point lead and:

Off
Devils vs. NYR
Off
Devils vs. Tor
Off
Devils @ Wash
Off

Better to be the Devils now. Even if the Devils lose out, the Panthers need to get 3 points out of the 3 games vs Nash and Boston. 2 of those games against 1st place teams are on the back end of back-to-back games. If the Devils win one more game, lights out.

LoL at the Rags troll. The queen is getting old, and the Rock has been packed and going strong most of this year. Haven't heard anyone at all discuss rags rebuild except my buddy who is a ranger fan when we were just discussing hockey in general. A ton of ppl talking devils lately I've noticed though. Many NJ ppl who hadn't previously been huge hockey fans. Things are looking good for us .

If we win tonight, and Florida loses, that's all she wrote. I am way more focused on Philly and CBJ (particularly CBJ) at this point. They are both up on us by 1 point:

NJD vs. Rangers
NJD vs. Toronto
NJD @ Capitals

Phi @ NYI
Phi vs. Car
Phi vs. NYR

CBJ vs. Det
CBJ vs. Pit
CBJ @ Nash

Capitals will likely have nothing to play for when the Devils go down to DC; Toronto and the Rangers already have nothing to play for. Detroit has been playing fairly well, and Pittsburgh is still gunning to lock up home ice.

Flyers look to have a very easy finish.

As long as Devils get in I don't think it matters who they play.

Devils doing their part, currently up 3-1 at the start of the second. Florida-Nashville still scoreless, late 1st.

Also, Hall notched his 37th of the year. Does he get to 40?

Look at the Wings beating Columbus 4-1 told you guys the Wings were playing good lately. CBJ will then have Pit and Nashville. They could very easily find themselves not only in the wildcard, but out of the playoffs altogether.

Hall with the Penalty Shot goal! 5-1 Devils over Rags, still the second period. Flyers losing, Columbus losing, this is looking like a Devils night!

Congratulations New Jersey Devils! At least one team in the Metropolitan area knows how to make the playoffs in the 2017-18 season.

As of right now, Devils would play Capitals in the first round. But that can easily change with everyone jockeying for playoff placement going into the final weekend of the season.

Big congrats. Can still pass Pittsburgh. Let's go Devils!
