Anyone know what plan b is? what about the other opening we have? We have all been focused on Strickland but have not heard much about anyone else.

It's not good, to be sure.
I'd like to see Hyatt reclassify, and maybe a COMPETENT grad transfer now.

CJ Walker just announced his transfer. He killed Rutgers during the ACC Challenge. However, looks like his ties are to the Indy area

2 question marks I have for this decision.....
1. Will Gard be his coach for 4 years
2. What about/happens with Brad Davidson

Other questions/thoughts

1. You wonder if Wisconsin said we need to know now or we go in a different direction.
2. Did Minnesota pi$$ him off with the tape (see Russ Wood)
3. Corey Sanders - possible he is coming back

just brainstorming

Davidson was supposed to be their 2 guard from what I understand.

Davison's shoulder keeps on popping out. Actually he just had successful surgery to repair the shoulder so hopefully he recovers.
Wisconsin has an abundance of PGs with both D'Mitrik Trice and Davison. A wait line is forming.

Rivals 247 had him 100% Wisconsin for weeks now. I thought it just hadn’t been updated. Oh well. I guess the visit wasn’t as great as we thought.

Plus Brevin Pritzl and Kobe King at the 2... they have a ton of guards on that roster.

its crying over spilled milk at this point but Gard is gone if UW doesn't make the NCAAs next year. And with their history it would be justified.

I don't think Corey comes back. So if this means we patch up the PG position with a grad transfer or JUCO and we get Mulcahy, then I guess I'm fine with it

They will. They don't graduate anybody and they had bad injury luck this season. Must be nice to be literally any other power-5 program except for us. And Pitt, but I'd probably bet on them getting back to the NCAAs before us at this rate.

Believe that both Trice and King played 10 games so that puts them at the cutoff meaning wouldn't be surprised if both of them apply for medical redshirts somewhere along the line. None of these abundance of guards are off the NBA so fast.

He chose a school loaded with guards just two days after his visit here...smh.

That's the part that kills me. How often in FB and BB has a guy taken a visit to Rutgers, not committed, visited somewhere else, then committed there? Or had a visit to Rutgers scheduled, taken another visit first, and committed right away without visiting here?

But with us OF COURSE he commits to the other school immediately after visiting here.

He obviously wasn’t impressed with our facilities. Can’t fault him.

It is hard to believe. The kid could have received major minutes at RU. Instead ge goes to Wisconsin which we defeated this past season. Davison will get major minutes. Their fans love him. We must find someone else.

I hear ya. He even announced earlier than expected. He must have been really underwhelmed.

Here's what it boiled down to. A team who hasn't been to the NCAA tournament in 25 years and hasn't had a winning season in over 12 years. Versus a team which has been to the NCAA's 21 times in that time span and last winning season was in 2016-17.

Kid can say he felt comfortable there, he liked the academics better, they had better chocolate pudding, whatever he wants. But it's all bullsh*t. The real reason is simply history. They win, we don't.

I guess the tourney run didnt do much for our stock haha. Onto the next.

People doubting Pikiells/staffs recruiting ability need to chill out. Wisco is a storied named, they always had the edge over us, well get our kids.

Big difference losing guys to Bo Ryan when we were in the crappy Big East/AAC vs. losing guys to Greg Gard when we're in the B1G.

Ryan Connors just wrote an article that Tai will most likely be the backup to Brad Davison. Davison has 3 more years to play so who knows if Strickland will ever start. I really think he made a mistake. So much for him and his dad loving Karl Hobbs and all of our other coaches who were all point guards. I feel so bad for all of the visits our coaches made to Tampa to see him. I guess loyalty meant nothing in this case. We certainly let him know how badly we wanted him. He would have had major minutes at RU.

If that is the case then why are we recruiting players we can't get?

Anyone who doesn't have doubts about the coaching staffs recruiting is not a realist. I am not concluding that they can't recruit at this level. However so far I don't have evidence that they can. We will know a lot more by this December.

Strickland is a 3 star guard. He's not a program changer. We obvisously won't get everyone, but if he's over our head, we have much bigger problems.

Have more fans, win more games, have a nicer looking campus, be better academicly, have better facilities (that will happen, but at wisconsin level?)

Just saw Blake Francis is transferring from Wagner. 41% three-point shooter on a HUGE number of attempts (239). Get him in here. Don't care that he doesn't have B1G size, get a guy who can put the ball through the hoop.
