Here was a team that we took to the wire. We were ahead by I think 5 when Freeman cramped up with about 5 minutes to go and they went on about a 9 point run with him out of the game and beat us 78-73. We really did play several really good games against tough competition.

But losing Freeman is addition by subtraction according to someher. If so we should have won going away because he was out

He was playing well and efficiently in that game. He also played well at the end of the year for the most part, after he was benched. Most of the games in between, not so much.

You could see at that game they had a lot of talent. Rutgers played a good game that night.

I think they were also without their 7'4 center when they played us. Not sure how much of a factor he has been for them in the tourny

I'm a Florida State fan now that my daughter attends. Still not a fan of Hamilton as a coach but have to give him props for getting to round of 8. FSU often plays too undisciplined which is on the coach.

I agree with that but somehow he wins. Didn’t expect much after last year so this is all a bonus.

Grew up a Rutgers fan/season ticket holder and went to FSU. I thought Rutgers outplayed us in that game and we were lucky to escape with the W. We looked much better in the first half of the season than we did in the second half (until the NCAA tourney), so I give RU a lot of props for that game. I think this type of run by FSU points to what RU can do in the near future in basketball... as we really weren't that far ahead this season. I think our depth and size are the only things that made us a better team, and those are the same things that I would attribute to this tourney run.
