I don't know where you're drawing the line in Tiger's case between technical and mental but one can affect the other.

Langer was able to overcome them and have a great second career. Kevin Na seems to have overcome his if you consider his problems a form of yips. Tom Watson had his moments but the putting yips affected his later career.

He’s got a chance to tie laying in the 18th fairway !! Play well, but just missing many birdie putts.

Comes up 1 shot short. Finally figured out his tee shots. His short game sharp. Today only his putting was a thisclose to winning the tournament. He’s all set for the Masters. Nobody knows those greens better than Tiger.

As much as I used to hate his arrogance you got to sympathize with Tiger and respect his streaks of brilliance...Phil I'd root for and do much easier for his modesty and hard work ethic determination...their both necessary and good for golf fans ⛳...I'd love to see at least one of them roar again and win a major this year !!

Even with his B game today, Tiger was challenging the lead until the final shot on 18 on a course he hasn’t played in 20 years.

The crowds at Bay Hill in Orlando this week will be huge w Tiger coming off his Valspar performance.

He looks to me to be ready to win any tournament he plays in. Shocked that he is this strong so quickly.

The guy I'm interested in watching this year is Paul Casey who's currently T1. He went from 3rd in the world rankings in 2009 to nowhere to be seen on the US Tour. Over the past couple years he's had some good finishes including a couple lately and has been climbing back up the ladder to 17th.
Good call
Fsntastic final round.

As we all know if Woods is healthy and he can control his tee shots better then I believe he can be very competitive going forward. Do I see him winning again? Yes but it may not come for several months. The Tiger haters will be out in full force if that does happen.

Easily could have won today. Very controlled, almost effortless -1. Any one of the dozen putts that missed the hole by less than an inch or less and he's in a playoff. Said after the round he kept getting in between yardages on his approach, "one of those days."

He's back. Expect him near the top of almost every leaderboard with three or more wins this year.

Just isn’t what he was. These are the type of low level tournaments he should win. Wait until the big boys come to town.

Woods beat the # 4,5, 11 &12 ranked players in the World this weekend. 3 of them Major winners , plus 2 FEDEX CUP winners . All younger than him.

He’s back.

You’re just an idiot when it comes to golf. This is like his fifth tournament back with a fused back which caused a swing change and he is close to winning. Rose is playing as well as anyone in the world and he beat him today. It really is only a matter of time at this point.

To use a cliche often heard on this board, he picked the club that he felt gave him the best chance to win.

More specifically, in his post-match interview he explained that on 18 he wanted to avoid the right rough at all costs. As long as he was in the fairway he felt he had a shot. He did lament that he didn't hit the 2 iron as far as he thought he would.

Looks like Tiger's injuries forced him to make changes now paying off. Not golf's #1 fan but between Mickelson last week and Tiger today (saw parts of each) that may have the most exciting two weeks of golf ever ( Tigers putt on 17 was incredible).

Feel for Reed. He was lights out before 18. He missed his approach by 3 ft. That putt was a WTF.

Tiger set a very high standard with his prior peak period of play. Not sure what his ceiling is right now but given his age and injury issues I would temper the enthusiasm of thinking he is going to contend at places like Augusta regardless of his past success.

I did not see a lot of yesterday’s performance but his demeanor seemed a lot more reserved and at times I was not sure if there was a look of anguish or pain. Certainly moved more deliberately.

No doubt a bonus for golf if he can come even close to his prior form.

He looked pretty damn good to me, but he's always one swing away from tweaking something again. We'll see how it works out, what tends to go as you get older is your consistency.

PGA of America has announced Tiger will be the US Team Captain for the 2019 Presidents Cup. For a guy who not so long ago didn't have a very good rep among his fellow pros this says a lot.

IMO, Augusta ,’with its wide forgiving fairways, will come down to putting. And Tiger knows those greens better than anybody. Also, I watch almost every one of his swings on Saturday and Sunday and he’s completely pain free. Hope it stays that way. His post tourney interview you could see how happy he was with his health and being competitive again. He was a couple of very close birdie putts from winning yesterday. Next week are familiar Bay Hill should be interesting as well.

Put your money where you mouth is big guy. He will never win another major. Best case is some low grade tourney. Like this one.

There is no such thing as a low grade tourney on the Florida swing. The Europeans are all over here now, prepping for Augusta. Yeah, theres a chance that DJ, JT, Day or Rahm might have gone low and ran away with it if they were there yesterday. But they were all in Mexico and out of that group, JT needed a miracle hole out on 18 just to get into a playoff.

Now if you were talking about an alternate event, opposite a major or a shoulder season event, or even the Valero Open in Texas, two weeks after the Masters when the Euro's are all home and the big guns are taking a break before the next major push, then you might have a point.

Sorry, Cali, you're wrong again.

Just stop. I believe there were 4 of the top 25 and 1 or maybe 2 top ten.

For those pinning their hopes on another major, this field was jello as to what will be at Augusta.

Put your money up.

You and already have a $100 bet he'll win another major at some point in his career.

"Home to the Valspar since 2000, this event was once the weak afterthought of the Florida swing. However, it ranks 15th on Tour in strength of field, due primarily to word of mouth: The pros love Innisbrook for its straightforward virtues, with Ernie Els once calling Copperhead the best course the PGA Tour visits in Florida."

...not that facts or truth will change your opinion...

this was not a joke field - players who missed the cut: spieth, mcilroy, hoffman, fisher, stenson, finau, moore, woodland, dufner

Woods may never win another major but just him competing with the young ones is in of itself a great achievement. It ‘s hilarious to listen to some of the comments here as usual on a Rutgers board . Just his presence alone increases the vibe on the course and on the boob tube.Too much animosity in the world.

Not to mention the golf fans on this board. How many posts about Valspar do we have without Tiger playing? I'll set that over/under at .5

Tiger was so screwed up back then that he took to putting from off the green if there was no rough or traps between himself and the pin. He's had to make swing changes because of the surgery and this may be one of the positive outcomes. I just don't believe even at Tiger's level a minor change would have the effect we're seeing. I have to believe it's at least as much mental (confidence).

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Time itself is amazing in life. Isn't it?

Over the last few years, Tiger could try anything and have no luck. Relationships, health, job etc you name it. Complete opposite of the years before.

He has his flaws like anyone, but it undeniable that he is a superstar in every sense of the word.
