Not sure who is visiting. I'm also sure they are working the phones, text and social media trying to capitalize on the good showing in the B1G tourney. He is listed as a 6'4 PG, 2019 recruit.

Were there any recruits at the Garden the last three days to see Rutgers play so incredibly?

Heard from a decent source that Mulcahy is ND bound.
That would be unfortunate considering how much effort this staff has put into recruiting him. If Notre Dame just swoops in, offers and he commits that would suck. It's gonna be hard recruiting against these name brand teams.

That is so true. Notre Dame has stolen several NJ guys from us at the last moment. Farrell was the most recent but Murphy was a real killer as well. We have put so much effort into Mulcahy ever since Pikiell was hired. We really need him.

The “recruit locally” paradigm has killed us for decades. We keep repeating history. When recruiting, geographic proximity works against us with top-notch, unflawed can’t miss talent. Too much negativity from friends, family, personal trainers, coaches, and miscellaneous yardbirds.

RU is always going to struggle recruiting Catholic school kids who usually grow up idolizing ND (largely because their parents did too).

But, yeah, it will be a HUGE disappointment if we don't land Mulcahy after all of the effort Pike has put into recruiting him.

While Mulcahy is from NJ, Pikiell is recruiting everywhere, and he said so recently. He will go anywhere to find the right student athletes that fit.

With a name like Mulcahy, I bet hearing from Notre Dame, Villanova, and Boston College is music to the ears of Mulcahy’s parents.
Isn't Paul the son of Bob Mulcahy? If so then I am sure they are well aware of those teams and us for that matter.

There's so much truth in this post, it makes me sick. They run past what they need, searching for what they want. #shinyobjects

If they could only see what we see. With the sh*tty state of local pro sports for the foreseeable future, now's the time that RU could fill that void.

Your comment have merit ,however, top recruits from NJ/NYC don't share that viewpoint based on decades of going to out of state schools.

I think for a lof kids coming a distance to be in NY Metro is a bigger plus than is staying home for local talent.

In light of the recent "payola" investigation, I wonder what percentage of lost recruiting battles have been RU losing out from not playing the game with handlers versus kids genuinely wanting the other school.

I'm glad to hear Pikiell is not putting all his eggs in the local basket.

I don't see that----no offer-----ND has 2 to give and PG Moore from DeMatha and PF Stewart from Luminaire out in Indiana are the priorities.

Choppin - I'd be happier. Mulcahy is a really good player, but the three is so important and I got serious doubts there.

The kid Sturdivant is a stud player and immediate starter or contributor from Day 1 at most schools, he has a ton to his game and the right demeanor and skill set for this level of play....credit Pike and Brandin Knight for getting an in-home visit, the competition will be stronger for Sturdivant than a Mulcahy, based on location down the SEC land and the number or schools already in on him. RU will land a very good guard in 2019, just a matter of which one decides to get on board 1st.

I don't think this will be a recruitment that most schools will jump in on and sway the player, he seems like an academic focused kid that won't make an overly uninformed decision.
