The difference is that Young already has PG skills. It took Curry a few years to complement his in-the-gym range with that skill set.

Curry averaged 5.9 assists per game his rookie season in the NBA compared to 6.5 assists per game right now. It seems he entered the league with similar to PG skills to what he has now.

The difference is that Curry didn't play PG in college his first 2 seasons because he had a PG 2 years senior to him running the show and they ran him off the ball through screens to free him up. But by his junior season, he ranked 8th nationally in assist percentage at > 40%.

No. Freshmen weren't allowed to play then. He played 3 years at LSU, I believe.

Freshman were not allowed to play, Pete had to play on the LSU freshman team his first year, then played 3 years for varsity at LSU averaging over 44 points a game for his three years, as stated, without the three pointer.

That is absolutely absurd. He was well before my time. I’ve only seen highlight but good lord that is almost unbelievable. Especially considering I always hear about how great of a passer he was.

In 1970 the LSU Kentucky game was televised on national TV. My aunt worked for LSU and told us you have to watched our Pete. Watched with my father. That was the day I became a basketball player.
