18 assists on 29 baskets

Made 12 of 14 FTs down the stretch and 15-20 overall (75%)

Shot 54% from the floor including 7-16 (44%) from downtown and held Iowa to 39% shooting

Had 4 guys in double figures

Won the TO battle 17-11

Sanders with 18 points, 8 assists, only 2 TOs, and a highlight reel dunk, but only 2 points in the first half, yet he played a great half on defense and distributing the ball.

Geo with 17/5/5 (and 4 steals) - just so smooth

Thiam with 16, including 4-6 from downtown, all 4 of which helped us establish that nice halftime lead. Scared us a little with the knee (hopefully just a knock).

Freeman with 14 and 8 and what, 4 dunks?

And our 3-headed center with 7 points and 9 boards, while O provided his usual energy (does he lead the nation in drawn charges?) and 6/5.

Plus we went 10 deep, with Bullock, Dadika and Souf all providing some needed rest for the other guys, although Corey did play 39 which is too many.

Oh yeah, we won 80-64 - maybe our most complete game this season - I know Iowa is struggling, but if we can play like that more consistently, we'll get at least several more wins this year.

I think Eugene has taken 2 charges in each of the last FOUR games, plus several near-misses that could have been called charges. Pretty amazing really.

First game in, um, FOREVER, that all of our major pieces were clicking on the same night. Sanders, Baker, Thiam, Freeman, all had good offensive games.

Not only 4 in double figures but 4 with between 14 and 18 points. That's some big time spreading the ball around and a real team effort.

Another fun stat. If you discount the MInnesota game at the end of EJs tenure in which they had no scholarship guards and only five scholarship players left, this games' win total exceeds our margin of victories in all of our B1G regular season wins before this year. 15 to 16. Unreal and terrifying stat.

He got three tonight, and should have had one more. Another he totally got caught acting and was called for a blocking foul.

We've also crossed the 30% from 3 threshold for the first time in a long time. Shooting 30.8% as a team now.

Here’s another stat.. the two revenue sports have won a combined 5 regular season conference games this academic year, tying the 2014-15 school year 3 Football, 2 men’s basketball) with our highest total since joining the league.

So assuming we get one more it’ll be the most successful overall season for football/men’s hoops in the Big Ten.
