I agree. Actually said to friends watching the game that I wished he was our QB!

Is the best QB I’ve watched all year, oh what a dream it would be to have a guy like him at RU.
Have any of you seen better?
Maybe Mayfield...
Me, too. Loved everything about that UCF team. They should have been in the playoffs.

Milt had a pretty good RB in the backfield with him when he was with the Browns.

At 5'11", too short.
He had a short offer list too. UCF, Hawaii and Air Force.
If Chris Ash chose to scour the shores of Hawaii for QB recruits instead of coaching in a meaningless bowl game, things could have been different.

1. Fromm
2. Mayfield
3. Milton
I like Fromm's football IQ, and ability to read the D. Only a Freshman
But, Mayfield close second
Milton is also great, but not in the same category as the other two. IMHO
But, to answer your question...Milton came from Hawaii to play for Central Florida...Really!?!?!?
Was it the new coach, or the fact that CF is a party school that offered a scholarship? We don't get these kids because it's not a destination that offers the perks kids are looking for, that simple.

Or simply look at uncommitted Recruits who were still deciding in early December. They were many here on the mainland.

You did notice that the UCF coach stayed to coach in a meaningless bowl game as did Ash - it is called loyalty. He will be off to Nebraska later today.

Frost was OC and QB coach at Oregon prior to UCF and was recruiting Milton for Oregon. When he left Oregon for UCF Milton followed him. Hawaiian product Toa Tagovailoa is the backup QB at Alabama also very talented and will be interesting to see how they keep him happy there as he is a super talent.

We have one in Arizona. Brock Purdy, AZ POY. Best offer Boise State because of size.

Would've gone 9-3 at best against our schedule. No playoff team there, sorry,, but GREAT team nonetheless. QB is very, very nice to watch or sure!
UCF is 4-0 against current top 25 teams. They beat USF, Memphis twice, and Auburn (who beat both Alabama and Georgia). And they lost to no one. We played 4 current top 25 teams. 9-3 at best? Where is the evidence for that?

Well, USF and Memphis twice...if both those teams played our schedule they would be 7-9 wins at best too and not a dame one of them ranked. Just saying

UCF was a good team this year. Played an attacking D and has a QB playing at a very high level. But...12 games and 9 of them B1G teams and a top 10 OOC...that just wears on a team.

Didn't see him. Hate to say it because it's PSU, but their QB is really tough--difference maker. Name escapes me right now--senior moment.

He was a gamer, but terribly inaccurate in the first half, at least. Looking at his stats, I'm guessing it was nerves, but they would have won by 3 TDs if he could have done anything earlier. I believe he was 2 for 15 for 14 yards at one point.

He's a sidewinder(a baseball term), very tough the first time you see him, but once you understand where the ball is coming from, easy to hit. Same with this kid, can't have a side arm delivery with the big boys, this level is as far as he goes.
Sorry Zap, usually agree with you, just not this time. But, he is fun to watch.

4? I count 3: Auburn, USF and Memphis

USF and Memphis played the 76th and 99th most difficult schedules in the nation this year (to go along with UCF's 72 which was 99th PRIOR to them playing USF and Auburn). Auburn, as I've said in another thread, was a GREAT win for them and GREAT win for anyone, no question, BUT IT IS NOT a season full of a top 30/40, even top 50-type of schedule and if you don't understand that then I don't know what to tell you buddy (funny, we usually agree on a lot of things lol...) We played the 35th toughest schedule and, yeah, I'd like my chances taking the odds that they would have lost at least 3 regular season games with OUR schedule.

Watching him brought to mind Chas Dodd. While Milton is better, if we turned Dddd loose I think he could have been a poor man's version. Still bugs me we kept in Nova when he was cold when we had a BCS shot.

The Louisville or the Pittsburgh game cost us the BCS in 2012. Not sure if Dodd would have made a difference in those . But the bowl game vs Virginia tech he should have played . I wanted flood canned that night.

UCF would have won no more than 6 games with Rutgers' schedule. Sure you can beat a disinterested Auburn team on a one time basis. But it
's different when you're playing Auburn-type teams week in and week out instead of teams like Temple.

Rutgers would have been a bowl team had they played in the AAC.

We would at most only win 2 more additional games than you guys did this year? Are you delusional? You guys lost 41-0 to Indiana....INDIANA!!!!!

It's funny how Auburn is suppose to "dust us" (according to Paul Finebaum and others) but when they lose, they are disinterested. IF you watched the game, you would have seen they were anything but disinterested.

Yes, because by the time you get to Indiana, half your team would either be injured or not playing. You would be middle of the pack in the B1G.

Go ask Ville, Cuse, Pitt AND West Virginia how they are doing since moving to a real conference. One game against an overrated and disinterested Auburn team doesn't prove jack.

They win more than 6, but yeah playing in the BIG east is a grind and they would have gotten beat up . And if the qb gets hurt it’s over . Probably 3rd place.

Ok, maybe more than 6. How about 7? That 5'11" running QB wouldn't have lasted past 6 games with a B1G slate.

Getting your head pounded in 41-0 by Indiana has made you very dizzy.

I would petition to have our program shut down if we ever had a result like that against a team of that caliber.

FYI - Milton finished 8th in the Heisman voting this year and next year, now that he is on everyone's radar, should be in the discussion all year long.

But thank god he doesn't have Rutger's schedule or he may not live to see his 21st birthday.

Why are you so butthurt? Your team had a great year, capped off with an awesome bowl win, and here you are bitching and arguing on OUR board, which, btw, has been mostly complimentary of UCF and its accomplishments this year. Many posters, myself included, believe you should have had a shot at the NC.

But sorry, you don't play a legit P5 schedule and end up undefeated ... or in a top-tier bowl. You're not built for that grind, and you don't have to be. That isn't a controversial take - it's the very reason you didn't have a prayer at getting into the playoffs at the end of the season.
