Since joining the B1G, Purdue has been a very bad matchup for Rutgers.

This is an okay matchup for doorson. I hope doucoure shows some signs of life. Haas is big, but not a terrific rebounder but any means. He hits his free throws, though.

Common sense says at Purdue and Michigan State are games where RU struggles to get to 65 points...can RU rebound and allow Haas to kill them...hear me out...

Purdue is special at home when they get Vince Edwards and Mathias moving and making 3's....if Doucoure Shaq and Sa foul out, fine....but Purdue is very similar to SetonHall...excellent in transition shooting 3s but better in half court offense...give up 2s and stay with the shooters.

Very tough assignment but my instincts tell me that the next 3 games are really spots that help the staff really find out about not talent, but execution....If Corey hits shots, RU is in this game throughout....but that can mask execution and the appearance of bouncing back.

I think the Minnesota game was one of the best games RU played but botched up a couple of possessions at the end of the 1st half....it's actually been the only alarming trend in the last 4-5 games...good halves ruined by turnovers, poor defense and disguising 18-19 minutes of sharp play.

The next step isn't wins and losses...it's winning situational basketball....there are a LOT of good programs that fail in crunch time because they have talent to mask this. Right now, the last minutes of each of the next 3 1st halves HAS to be coached tighter and avoid backbreaking 5-0 or 7-0 runs.

RU stays close....very close...

Tough game when you’re slumping. Big man is really difficult to stop and their guards are great. I don’t have a score prediction. Hopefully we can get back on track and play some great defense. Pikiell has shown an ability to come in with a good game plan or adjust to what’s happening on the court.

We gave away Stoney Brook and if we hit our missed FTs, neither SB or Hartford are even close games. I hope this rest period has given us some energy to get back to playing Rutgers basketball.

Let’s go RU!

I have no idea.

Haas doesn't worry as much as their perimeter players.

Sorry (and happy) to say this....1st game after the break and Rutgers on the schedule, I can see Purdue being a little sluggish.......unless they knock down 3s.

If Hartford can come into Piscataway and win, RU can come into W. Lafayette and win.

That said, 79-54 Boilermakers. This is the 2nd hardest game on the schedule for a .500 at best team. Not really much to fret over here. I'm much more worried about the game on 1/5.

RU is +19....yikes

More likely to lose this game by 30+ than win.
I’ll say Purdue 81 RU 56

The only good matchup for Doorson is the hoop in my house hanging on the door (with nobody else around)

So far doucoure has been a let dow
Higgins Why not? We were embarrassed by mid level midgets .this past week .Why will we handle him?

Because the team outrebounded the best player in the country the week before in Angel Delgado. At least for that stat.

Haas stats for his size are less than impressive. People see 7 2 and 250 and think the program will have a heart attack on their hands. He shots free throws well, is efficient near the basket, but he is not not a great rebounder by any means.

Teams like Purdue are so hard to beat because they do well everywhere. Don't turn the ball over much at all, and hit their free throws. They will be a sweet 16 team.

Could be rough for RU.
