Question still stands... looking for 3 new coaches non of which are replacing the names you mentioned. I think these next hires (especially the OC of course) and their salaries will say a lot about RU's real level of commitment to winning in the B1G.

You gotta pay to play.

It does show that there is a willingness to pay more to improve or retain the staff.

I do not expect an announcement about the budget for assistants.

Not Burnhan, this coaching carousel needs to stop

Was he meeting expectations? None of us know for sure but DL recruiting has been so poor you have to at least consider the fact that he wasn't going to be retained.

Other than OC I wouldn't exactly call this current situation a carousel.

Kill was paid $625k. That's not chicken feed.

RU is never going to pay SEC money because a portion of many contracts is paid from outside the school. Georgia has some contracts where the school is only on the hook for less than half.

The Dl coach is not reponsible for closing. As is the closer. Others on the staff recruited DL candidates also.

When Burnham was hired from Iowa State it was mentioned that he had strong Florida ties and his father was the former DC at USF. Never saw the evidence that he had such ties. I can’t believe the love for Panalgos at this point. If Ash hires him after passing on an earlier opportunity then I am highly skeptical that he has a very deep Rolodex of coaching relationships. We do need a capable recruiter badly but bringing paragons back would be further evidence that Ash is doing a lot of learning on the job.

I guess it could be argued that Panagos was caught up in the wash. RU had to clean house. We've seen it not only on the sideline but also behind the scenes.

I have no idea whether he'd be considered. I have no idea whether he's a good coach or recruiter. I do remember when he and Burnham were compared here the prevailing opinion was Burnham was the better coach and Panagos the better recruiter but I'll have to leave that up to the people who know this stuff.

I mean, do all the assistants have 2 year contracts? I know Ash took that dopey 2 year commitment thing from Urban Meyer.

And you have to pay the right price for things , or else you're not running the program wisely.

Good riddance. Guy did very little for this program. NEXT!

I don't believe that. What he did for Turay, Wilkens, Bateky, Previllion, and Davis is a miracle. Wilkens after his performance this past season would start on Bama's 2 deep. Burnham got those guys to buy in and the size you clamored for on the D-line was there. Wilkens was a 306 pound D-end causing havoc in the Big Ten. Watch the Nebraska, Penn State, Maryland and Washington tape.

I wouldnt say Wilkins was as dominant as you suggest...he played well yes, but he didn't have a huge impact on how teams offensively challenged us...I don't recall him commanding double teams to open up the pass rush...and Turay? He underperformed for Burnham's tenure...

What shocks me is that some posters feel Burnhams contract simply wasn't renewed...which is insinuating that either Ash waited until after the early signing period to announce this (which sounds shady) or he waited to announce it until Burnham had another job lined up which also doesn't make a lot of sense...it's more likely to me that Burnham realized that the DLine cupboard is bare and this was his year to make the move back to his home state to coach a team that is undefeated

People think Turay underpreformed because he didn't put up a 20 sack season. When in reality he did a great job, he was getting double/triple teamed for most of the season, and still was causing disruptions in the backfield.

Turay underperformed? You don't watch football bro? Never in his career was he a 3 down player like he was the last two years under this coach. Watch the film please. Watch.....the....FILM!!!!!
IMO turay was a three down player only by necessity as we didn't have any other depth along the DLine...we shall see, I know I'm in the minority but I don't think he gets drafted...and that to me would mean that he wasn't property developed from his freshman year...

Disagree, fans such as myself, believe Turay underperformed because, when he wasn't injured, he wasn't the complete defensive end that should have developed based on his freshman season...he caused disruption, but not at the consistent level of an elite player

I don't think he is a DE in the NFL. I think he is a linebacker in a 3-4 Defense and with him showing coverage skills, he will be drafted. I think after the combine and interviews, he will go quite high. Watch the film against tOSU and his battle with their Tackle Jordan, who was a Five Star and we offered him too. Turay embarrassed that kid on the edge. Turay could've played for us. Saban would've grayshirted him, redshirted him, then he would've played his last two years as a grown man.

He was dominant. Just watch the film. Let your eyes convince you.

Some people are going only by stats as a way to judge Turay. Turay was very good this year. He became a complete player by being able to drop into coverage and rush the QB. People questioned his development because the sacks aren't there.

He also played with much more discipline. He was able to set the edge and not get lost in the over pursuit. Kid will be a good pro in the right system.
