5 Big Ten teams have top 25 classes, and all 5 are in the East division. Insane and needs to be corrected by the conference

We have to somehow make it to the top 7 recruiting teams in our league to garner more BTN air time. Even Purdue was in the limelight. At least we beat them.

We cant seem to recruit 4* star talent at all.

Solid 3* guys hopefully our new OC is a stud. Dont have many complaints with the D later half of the year or STs.

RU is 7th in B1G East, RU would be 6th in SEC West, Third in B1G West, and 6th in SEC East.

Tough world...but in no way do i want to be in the B1G West, visiting those cow schools.

I'm OK with Maryland getting high recruiting rankings.
They don't generally do a very good job of making the talent show up on the field.

Maybe Maryland can sign a few more "star recruits" so they can beat us next year. For all the recruiting hoopla they've received they lost to us, missed a bowl and only went bowling in Year 1 of Durkin because their schedule had more cupcakes than a Rachel Ray Christmas party.

Wonder how we would have done in the ACC? Would this class rank pretty high in the ACC or would we not get this quality a class if we were not in the BIG East? A conundrum but we are where we are and we are who we are. But disheartening to see the gap in the BIG East widening.

Yet Wisconsin keeps performing well with 3 star players..

Actually False.
Wisconsin has had many 4 Star Recruits:
2017 = 5 - 4*
2016= 4- 4*
2015= 3 - 4*

And they have much success with In State Recruits.

Them and MSU always are cited blindly for classes with only 3* players yet both schools get more 4* every year than we have in 5, don’t know where these myths started

Serious question - why does Wisconsin not get higher ranked classes? These guys went 12-1 last year! They should be bringing in top 15 classes

Might make some feel “ we too also have a chance” since we can’t land the top recruits...particularly in state ones.
It is what it is.

To be fair, most of Maryland's best talent has yet to see the field (redshirted).

Most of the starters were Edsall kids.

That's about to change (thank goodness).

While I certainly won't disagree with the East having a great year in recruiting, to use the current rankings is also a little misleading.

Minnesota and Purdue are the only 2 West schools to have the "20" recruits to count for full rankings. Wisconsin is close at 19 kids and I think they may have 21 now and be adding some more so they may rise depending on how the kids are rated. Nebraska sits at 13 and is taking 23 minimum now. Illinois and Northwestern are sitting at 16. Iowa has 17. While they won't come close to top 15 classes, Northwestern, Iowa, and Nebraska will more than likely get into the top 30-35.

If you compare star average(Rivals) it looks a little different it may be a better "appraisal" of how teams are doing currently with 45 days to go to close out classes.

None of it really matters at this point anyway. Everyone will have a better idea in a couple years. This is just fun to watch.

Both sides of the SEC current rankings are going to change a lot by the time the Feb. signing day is done. Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and A&M will all rise a lot. Probably see 2 of them in the top 20 when it's all done.

We are doing worse with recruiting after we entered BIG.
All the teams in the East are going to be better than us next year.
There is nothing to look forward to with our football program.
I would be surprised if we average 25K in attendance next year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Personally, I'm pumped for next season. 10-2 or 9-3 at a minimum. Mark it down.

the bottom line is Rutgers will never (for a LOOONG time) be anything better than #4 in the division with 3 loses penciled in to start every season. The $ is GREAT, the mountain to climb like a 50 FOOT wall.

what is it? Never or a looong time. Can only have one or the other.
