FSU missed about 10 open looks in a row, plus got a bogus flagrant foul. And they're still up 2.

Wow. FSU, way underrated, made Florida look pedestrian and overrated.

Florida now with 2 losses (including a close loss to #1 Duke) should drop out of the top 10, and FSU has to be top 15 now.

Final score 83-66 FSU.

This should make our team feel very good. 5 point loss to FSU and a much closer game against Minnesota; probably a legit 12-13 point loss.

Toughest test tomorrow but our guys play with passion. Hope we can play focused but not tight against the Spartans. They play suffocating defense so it’s a good test for Geo and Doucoure. I hope Corey snaps back and takes quality shots. Same with Freeman. Can’t waste possessions.

Florida State dominated Florida that was #5 in the country and was averaging 99.5 ppg. FSU won by 17 on Florida's home court. We played FSU so much better. It was a shame that Freeman cramped up and FSU scored 11 straight points when he was out. Pikiell said FSU was very good and was an NCAA team after we lost. Thiam played great defense against Mann yet a few guys said he did nothing in that game. CJ Walker won the game for FSU down the stretch.

Teams should never "feel very good" after losing. That can get way too comfortable.

I don’t think they are feeling good about losing. Nobody wants to lose. My point was that you try to determine as best as you can; where you possibly stack up against the country. There’s no fool proof system but I’m looking at it like we were within 5 points of a team that just beat a very good basketball team last night by 17 on their Home court.

If we hang with MSU all night there will still be some who don’t believe .... I think we are all just afraid because we’re not used to it .. maybe we actually are “good”.... not top-10 good, but .. maybe a squad that could be ranked down the road? No “bad losses” yet, just saying ...

After watching FSU manhandle #5 Florida last night, FSU is a legitimate top 15 team. They're athletic, tall and long and they knock down their shots.

reality check...Rutgers is not going to be a ranked team. Just does not have the pieces...Ru can be a solid team and a competitive team but there is a ceiling on how many wins this team can get this year.

That being said its a positive that RU hung with a FSU team that clobbered Florida. Its the things we can point to that show Pike is the right guy and with more talent we will start to win

And while we lost handily to a very good Minny team, we had an abundance of open looks that we just did not convert. Also a sign of good coaching.

On any given night if we make more shots than usual, that's when we'll knock off teams that are better on paper.

3 top-15 teams in our first 9 games ... played all to within single digits (until late in the game agasint Minny) ... not saying we’re a top-25 team, but ... maybe we’re better than people are used to. We will find out soon. SHU game is now the game of the season ... will set the trajectory

Sorry to throw cold water on things.....Look at the box score and minutes for the starting 5. If izzo had to beat us by 20 he would have.

this is false....this game was 5 points with 2:30 minutes left.
I believe that what he's saying is that if Izzo played his starters more, MSU would have won by 20.

I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with his assessment, because I didn't see the game.

Look at the box score and starter minutes. Izzo barely has the foot on the accelerator. Ward got punished for being soft inside in the 1st half and sat the bench. Bridges was taken out every time MSU stretched the lead.

Izzo got exactly what he wanted out of this game.

some of those starters did not play well in the first half...no reason to think more minutes would have changed that....I think Ward has/had some disciplinary issues

Announcer said that MSU has 10 players that play over 10 minutes a game so no surprise if the playing time was spread out.
