Their center is 6'9" with a 7'+ wingspan, and just missed 2 from up close.

Hey Dee Kantner is reffing!!!! Thought she retired.

26-17 RU half. Crowd is LOUD/MAD at a couple of ludicrous calls by refs. Scaife with 9. The potential for this team is awesome if they can gel a bit more, probably will happen as they continue to get used to each other.
Anyone else watching?????

I am on TV. This looks like a potential blowout in the making.

The speed of RU is really incredible. 30-19, an we would be up by more if Inouye disappeared.

Scaife needs to play the rest of the half and shoot everytime, rest of the team cannot do much

have to make foul shot...RU just 2-4 and Carey a poor shooter now to line....UVA getting easy buckets...why did CVS take off press...50-43...never easy is it

you mean the one where the big 6'9" player fell just fell down and they call a foul lol? other than that I wouldn't say the worst game I've seen called against our women. (except all the "anticipated call" whistles end game when UV needed to foul).

#35 Stasha Carey is the best all around basketball player I have seen (men or women) in years! Smart, poised, hustles, rebounds. Great BBIQ. Can see why she plays the top of the '55. GREAT find.

I was just gonna post I think this was a breakout game for her in so many ways. If she keeps it up she will be playing mucho minutes.

My first time seeing this team this year. We looked far better than UVA. As usual, if we could shoot better, we would be hard to beat. That’s a big if however. But overall I was happy with what I saw. Defense was great

Watched the post game presser and it seems like CVS/team is a bit wiped mentally/physically from playing 6 games in 11 days. It's at tough slog for any team, but particularly one that is basically all learning to play together for the first time. CVS said she didn't press as much vs Siena because she knew she needed to keep the players fresh. She said this game proved to her the team could play lock down half court D; its eems as if she's implementing different concepts in waves. Carey mentioned that rebounding had been an emphasis in practice recently, and the team did well on that front (out-rebounding UVA 38-29). 8 turnovers is also an exceptional number.

As for the offense: it's going to be ugly if teams zone us and we settle for 3's and then go 3/18. There are shooters on this team but none of them are consistent enough from deep to make teams guard us there (shockingly our best 3-pt shooter is Carey, and she's only taken 7 shots from deep). That means they need to work on beating a zone by driving and finding the gaps. Harris showed some nice touch from the FT line and I'd love to see us run more through Carey--she has the athleticism and ability I think to drive both from the FT line and baseline--as does Jenkins (though less polished). Tyler is one of the better midrange shooters in the nation, but those are shots others (Rollins, Cryor, Sanders) can find too.

Exactly!

(I think just one dribble-drive through a crease the whole game. And just one backdoor.)

I hated those several years when we just passed around the perimeter of a zone until the clock ran out and than just threw up an off balance shot on the buzzer. But, we can't just depend on the 3. We do have to get back to some good perimeter weaving to loosen up the zone to find creases.

Loved listening to this post game press conference. You need to stay with it until the end to hear Stasha and KK try to explain to Coach how to put her phone on "Do Not Disturb" to avoid calls in the middle of the night! A riot!
