1. 5+ assists / game
2. > 2 : 1 Asst. to Turnover ratio
3. > 5 RPG
4. Tough D
5. And he LEADS RUTGERS to Big Dance....(not the NIT or CIT or whatever those initials are)

If he barely breaks 11-13 ppg....how does he expect that to translate to the NBA?

As much as I like Corey / want an RU grad in the NBA, I'd hope he'd be back for his senior year with a summer to work on his shooting / 3 ball %'s. If not...and he opts for the $$ I understand, but he's playing in Europe, China or the Artic (what's left of it).

He’s not a point guard and he’s too small to be a 2 guard ., if he could shoot that would be one thing but his shot is so screwed up and awkward he’ll never be a good shooter . This is probably not even worth discussing at this point. 5-14 against coppin state does not exactly scream nba (and this was not the first game like this). Add the fact that he is an upperclassmen already and has some red flags off the court.

Look at Isaiah Whitehead. He was twice the player Corey is and is hanging on by a thread with his hometown team.

Douby was the Big Easts leading scorer at almost 26 per game his junior season, and only lasted 3 seasons after being drafted first round by Sacramento.

Now, he's gone on to have a legendary career all over the world since, especially a bunch of high profile seasons in the CBA, and is currently in Lebanon making mid 6 figures even now...

He's the exception though, not the rule.

Always cheer for my guys, but I truly hope CS gets his degree at the very least. It's a pleasure watching him play, and I'd take a ton of pride in knowing the rest of his life is off to a great start after he's done at Rutgers

Hope you are right about RU. I certainly can see him leaving RU, but not for the NBA.

I love Corey but he doesnt even attempt to go left 99% of the time and fumbles a little when he does. His shot also has been liners at the front rim. Im hoping the shooting picks up.

I wonder if his legs r beat from D. His D has been very good. If he learns to knock down the 3, facilitate. and play lock down D he could find a niche on the right team.

He hasnt shown this at an elite level yet this year

The NBA opportunities for PGs and 2Gs under 6'5" are really limited. If you can't defend 5 positions, you have to be able to score in bunches or be fantastic with assists. Everyone is looking for a Ben Simmons. Nobody is looking for Nate Archibald.

Time will tell if a team wants to give him shot, put him in the Dev. League and see what happens in a few years. If not, he will be overseas making a good living.

I've said this a ton of times already--if you aren't 6'10 or bigger you have to the the best of the best of the best in American college basketball to make it in the NBA. Especially with the huge # of internationals in the NBA nowadays. It's nice to talk about but the NBA is not a realistic option for ANYONE. High school kids who aren't born with physical gifts (6'10 or bigger with crazy athletic skills) need to get it into their head that the NBA almost certainly not going to happen no matter what. I know that most 17 year old hot shot bball players won't listen but thats the way it is.

Unless he really catches fire in B1G league games this season, his best bet would be to go the Shabazz Napier route at UConn and look for a breakout senior year to get some attention from the NBA. Bouncing around for $1MM+/yr as back-up in the League sure ain't bad!

If he wants to get drafted as an upperclassman, he'll have to be at minimum All-Conference first team and top 5 in B1G player of the year voting. These designations would be proof that he is getting recognition as a player when he currently has very little buzz despite testing the waters twice. Getting drafted as an upperclassman is difficult and you have to be one of the top players in the country to even sniff 2nd round consideration. This and also squash any off-the-court concerns.

Corey's best shot would be as a facilitator and defender. If he can get up to 7-8 assists per game with just 2-3 turnovers, while also showing an ability to be a lockdown defender, he'd very likely get a look in the NBA - though I don't know about being drafted. I don't see his outside shot improving much at this point - his best bet is to show scouts that he can run the point, protect the ball, facilitate the offense, feed the stars, and contribute defensively. He might find himself as a backup PG somewhere to spell the starter.

Size and shooting accuracy are the reasons that Sanders will have great difficulty being drafted.

Also...I think this is not about being drafted but about getting and having a legit chance.

Keep in mind Yogi Ferrell is in the NBA a after not being drafted and bouncing around through summer leagues and maybe yhe Dev League. Smaller and Not as fast as Sanders. Not a good defender..but, a better outside shooter and facilitator.

At this point Corey will not sniff the NBA. His best bet is to stay in school and get a degree that he can fall back on. He will end up playing in G league or overseas, but in his first 2+ years he has not showed the consistency that is needed to be a player in the NBA.

Yes, Yogi had all the accolades coming in and was a great Big 10 player and made the All Big 10 Teams. The All Defensive Team surprises me because when I saw him against Rutgers he was not a great defender. Obviously, I did not watch a lot of Indiana games.

The 17 ppg and 6 assists falls in line with him being a very good 3 point shooter and facilitator. Two areas where he exceeds Sanders.

I have to agree with some of the previous posts. Corey has NBA athleticism but not NBA skills. Simply not a good enough shooter and not a good enough left hand. Not saying he can't get there but he needs to really work on the shooting. He's now taking set shots from the 3 point line instead of jumpers and it's certainly not increasing his percentage.

The conversation of Sanders making it to the NBA. It has been discussed enough to make my head spin. Just let the kid improve here. Just let him be a D1 student-athlete. Sanders has so many things to work on. These conversations just continue the unrealistic topic, and burden on this kid if he doesn't make it.

If my friend who was a much better and bigger point guard in the Big East wasn't drafted, then Corey won't. But like my friend, he can make a real nice career for himself in Europe.
