I’m wondering where we can find the points on offense to create the upset vs Indiana. With a non existent passing game we know that Indy will stack the box against our running game. Not sure that we have a good solution for that.

If we could put together an average passing game we’d be a dangerous team to play. I hope that I live to see that day.

I’m hopeful, but would not take RU with the points in this one.
I said something similar in the other thread about this game. ( I swear I did not read your comment first). We are going to need some breaks to win this one on the road.
I would not bet on this game.

Because the country knows our offense sucks, would a 16-3 score shock you?

This. Vegas knows RU can’t score. Our Passing Offense is amongst the worst in CFB.
Indiana can score and Vegas knows this. Their QB can rip apart our depleted Secondary if given time.
Indiana has the 39th ranked Passing Offense .

Need to stop the Pass .

NCAA has 44th, and as I have pointed out before, a lot of these rankings are quite meaningless and separate 20 or so spots by a couple of yards in many cases.

I think our depleted secondary has been pretty good this year.

In Total Passing Yards Indiana ranks #39 with 2579 Yards. This as of yesterday.
Rutgers ranks #124 in Passing Yards.

Meaningless ? Perhaps ... my only concern is that only previous opponents that have higher Passing proficiencies than Indiana are OSU, Penn State, and Nebraska. All losses for us.

Not sure how much passing there will be in the game... look at the weather forecast - 100% chance of rain and 17 mph winds. High of 56, low of 28. Was thinking of making the drive from Columbus for the game until I saw the weather forecast. Would explain why tickets are going for $6 on stub hub.

Their QB is hit or miss. If he hits they could put 40 on us
If he doesnt we have a chance
.Our games with them have been lights camera action so far.

I've been hearing this since the Purdue game.

Yes we lost Nebraska, but they did not pass the ball all that well against us. In fact they were pretty lousy.

Even PSU, McSorley had a good game passing, but didn't exactly torch us.

Weather looks to be in our favor as well. If we can run the ball we should be in good shape for this one.

You are correct.
We lost to Nebraska because of Special Teams ( 2 missed tackles on the sideline on the 70 Yard Punt return) and our inability to stop Ozigbo on 2nd Half runs.

IU played well against OSU, Michigan and Michigan State. I don’t understand why so many fans are chalking up an RU victory here. Winning away as an 11 pt dog would be the top accomplishment of the Ash era.

Who is chalking it up as a win? The line just seems high.

What's up with IU's rs freshman QB?

This Lagow guy has been pretty inconsistent, though he has had 2 decent games in a row. Statistically anyways.

We lost to Nebraska because their lines, on both sides, wore us down. They OWNED us in the 2nd half scoring on, IIRC, 3 of their final 4 drives while we ONLY scored on Hester's pick-6 the entire 2nd half.

It was the running game by Nebraska in the 2nd Half the sealed the game. Yes, their OL wore us down.
Believe me if Gio has played this game a different outcome for sure.

I think the best gameplan is to hit him and knock him on his ***. And again. And again. Ad Nauseum.
Ad infinitum is the preferred term because, from our perspective, it would never become annoying hitting their QB over and over again. ;-)

I will like us a lot more if there is plenty of wind and rain throughout the game.

That would favor the line play and ground game, our best chance to win IMO.

Hope springs eternal.

Lagow started last year, a transfer coming from a few schools. He can throw but takes a sack and is not mobile. He looked really good against OSU, threw for a ton. Ramsey replaced him, is mobile but not the passer Lagow is. Ramsey has been hobbled with some injury.

I went to the UMD v IU game and Ramsey was gimpy then, we didnt have the same gameplan of him scrambling that had gone on in previous games.
