We will stick to our gameplan of a physical downhill running game, conservative/smart QB play, bend but dont break defense, and field position with sound special teams. We are better on the OL/DL and will do enough to slow down Cobbs on the outside. I see consistent 5 yd carries on 1st down by Gus and Martin which will help us control TOP and stay on schedule. It won't be easy, but we get the job done.

I was about to post a new thread asking for everyone to stop bitching about the PsU game and to focus on Indy. This came turned out just about how we thought it would, give or take. So, let's instead focus on a game we are excited to play and win.

I know that Indy likes to throw, so our DBs will be busy. Hopefully, our D will pressure their QB like we did it today. But, how have they fared against the run? That's going to be our game plan.

We do well after playing one of the powers in our conference and Indiana is #68 against the run (as opposed to PSU at #16.) I'm hopeful.

And looking at how Ohio dismantled Michigan Statue today, the bloom is off the rose with them as well. They won't be playing for anything, game is in Piscataway. Should be a good game, especially if we beat Indiana and are playing for a bowl.

Indiana will not be easy. But yes, we will beat them. And we have a shot at Michigan State, depending on intangibles.

Both games are very winnable. No more moral victories and patting our selves on back for 29 point losses.

I'm thinking the same thing. A large/loud crown will certainly help against the Spartans. Need to score TDs early rather than FGs.

Indiana has played a lot better than their record shows. But, I do think we bounce back and play a tough game to win. Still not as confident as many about MSU though.

it is not a matter of confidence, it is just the fact that they recently got whopped, so they are not
a super team by any means....we gotta study that tape looking for their weaknesses.

if we win next Saturday there will be an air of excitement in the stadium for the Mich st game.... we will go in as a fairly big underdog, but I think we got a shot.

Agreed. Both games are there for the taking. Beat Indy and I really like our chances vs a Sparty team with nothing to play for on Thanksgiving Saturday.

IMO, this game will truly tell us if Rutgers has turned the corner and this season has been a success...we know what this team is at this point and we know what Indiana is...Indiana has been mostly competitive with the big boys even in losses...

More so this game tells me a lot about the coaches...do they play yet another conservative game and hope to back into a win or do they get aggressive and try to actively win this game...

Indiana is better than their record. If they had lost to Illinois, I would have been more worried, since they would have seen as their chance to get a conference win. This should be a good game, but we should pull it out.

They have a Stud QB who will pick apart the RU Secondary if given time
.Bottomline Turay, Davis, Joseph must get to the QB. For once use more LB blitz’s like we did early at State Penn .

Indiana fan here

Lagow has an NFL arm but can be prone to forcing the ball into tight windows and is a pocket passer, not a scrambler.

Ramsey is likely to be healthy again for this game and may start or IU will potentially play both. Ramsey is a very different QB - game management, shorter passing, but he can scramble and run. The O playbook is different for each. For Rutgerss game, I think most IU fans hope to see Ramsey play more.

IU lost heartbreak games vs Michigan at home in OT and vs MSU away after leading to the end. They statistically beat Maryland soundly but had a blocked punt for TD , gave up an 88 yard kickoff return and had turned the ball over in the red zone.

Indiana had a brutal front loaded schedule, like all teams has had many injuries and lost their mid season bye due to a reschedule fluke related to the hurricane in FL. No mid year bye to heal.

Indiana, like Rutgers, is playing for bowl possibilities and should benefit from being at home and getting a few players off the injured list.

The Oline is young and a weaker part of the IU team. The D is the strength and is ranked around 30th overall.

IU has played 5 ranked opponents including Wisconsin and lost all 5 plus the Maryland debacle at Maryland.

I expect a close game and believe turnovers and special teams will determine outcome.

Rutgers is improving - good coaching and improving talent.

What does the injury situation look like for Rutgers?

Agree. If our passing game is better and it should be I think we win somewhat easily. Out better talent for a change should be able to get open and hopefully Gio completes some passes to keep the D honest. If we can pass a little we should roll them.

Indiana is better than they are last year. Do not write them off...

No doubt.

Winning on the road in this league is tough (and as a side note- winning on the road against ranked teams is extraordinarily difficult)....

but, I like this match-up - and have a good feeling we can get the Dub.

I was wondering if Ramsey was going to be back. I haven't watched too much of you guys but Lagow seemed a little more turnover prone than Ramsey.

I'm shocked to see that RU is a 10 point Dog. I would have thought it would be very close to Even. Bet the Farm on RU getting 10. This line will be under 7 by Thursday.

MSU is s very good team. Let's just worry about Indiana right now. We can't assume any victories against anybody.

These are the type of posts that have fanbases turn on their team for crazy reasons. Where do you have better talent than IU? They have a very good DLine , all American LB and and a very good WR. The win against Maryland put you ahead of schedule but they are a favorite for a reason. So if they beat you by 7 your team failed? The transitive property in college football never works, it depends on match ups. They have a very good d line and line backer which will match up well against your running game. If Rutgers gets the W it will not be easy and should not be expected. These are the type of threads where fanbases put crazy expectations on a team and complain if they aren't met. Winning easily should not be an option as an expectation. It may happen but extremely unlikely.

God, I hate to be the downer guy but I don't like this match-up with Indy at all. I don't see us effectively covering Cobbs and Lagow is more than capable of picking us apart. We win this one if our Dline can apply a lot of pressure and we get creative with blitzes, otherwise it's going to be a long day in the secondary. I've seen comparisons with Maryland, but i just think Lagow and/or Ramsey is much more dangerous than MD's 4th string QB. Our OLine may be able to spring us some good runs, but can our run game keep pace with their offense?

I️ don’t think this program is in position to beat any big10 team on the road except for Illinois and Maryland. The passing game and secondary injuries are simply too big of liabilities. Vegas seems to agree.

Easy buddy. You're reading way too much into this. The team isn't going to fail based on what I say and if I thought they did then still, they wouldn't care. And further where did I use the transitive property in the quote you used?

I think your Indiana fan-hood is showing.

Lets let them play the game and we'll see who wins. I think they win rather easily - I'm a guy on the internet - it means nothing to the fan base except for in a thread like this. Until then, lay off the caffeine.

Hey one other thing. All of the talent you are talking about? Where's all the wins?

But, they were SOOOOOO close to winning so many games. Those games were like EMU-close. And we all know how close that is. Those were quality losses they had. [roll]
