Millan only knows PSU. Even if he was doing this game all he would taking about is Barkley.

Was millen one of the guys saying paterno should not be fired when Sandusky news initially broke? Or was that blackledge ?

It was refreshing that Lehman actually knew the college football faceguarding rule, unlike so many dopes who think it's the NFL.

I don't think it gets lower in the pecking order than Rutgers and Illinois at noon.

Well... Chuck Long has only called 1 game this year. Leman at least gets a (3rd-tier on BTN, admittedly) game every week.

Last year, Long had the 3rd-tier games and Leman was rather rarely seen.

Best thing I saw on BTN all day was during the studio show, Howard Griffin saying he refused to talk about his beloved Illini being whopped by RU. Of course he did but as a RU fan it made me feel good to see someone else's pain lol.
Howard Griffith seems like a genuinely good person, and he knows his stuff. I like his style.

Rutgers is now 2-2 all time vs his beloved Illinis.. and should be 3-1. That first game (2005) we blew (and the PI call).. 2nd game the next year (2006) was the most dominant performance by a Rutgers defense maybe EVER.. Illinois did not cross the 50 the whole game. Then last year was.. well.. thankfully, LAST YEAR.. and now we win on their field.

Yeah, 2006 was so dominant it almost got boring. The only thing that kept it close was a pretty pedestrian RU offense. IIRC, the defense scored as many TD's as the offense did.

Considering how well the offense played the 1st half in 2005, the final result was a real gut punch.

Last year RU lost 4 fumbles and gave up a pick 6. That's why predicting a result based on the prior years result is often way off.

Another thing about that 2006 Illinis team.. they did not cross the 50 vs us.. but at home on Nov 4 vs number 1 Ohio State they lost 17-10.. and the week before only lost 30-24 at #18 Wisconsin. The only teams they beat that year were Michigan State and Eastern Illinois.

No love for Dick Honig? Not only is that a classic name but at one point there was a delay and he was just shuffling around on air. It was pretty hilarious.

The worst BTN color commentator is Glen Mason. Good in studio, not so good in the booth. He's knowledgeable of course, but demeanor and some of the other stuff he says? Eh. Lehman is very good, as is Chuck Long.

Whatever happened to O'Hara calling BTN games?

Millen was the Lions GM. In that role, he was a great GM for everybody else but the Lions

He was a dogsht GM and is a dogsht announcer

In a WSJ poll a few years ago, Matt Millen was voted as the worst GM in NFL history. That's why he's announcing today.

When I saw Lehman was on the broadcast I thought , great another shill for the home team since he's an Illini. He proved me wrong. Unbiased, insightful, intelligent. Helluva job, hope to see more of him.
