Creighton has some basketball facility right in the city. I can see how they can recruit in a much better conference now. Nebbys is also super nice. I think the RAC and practice center will be great once it’s done but just seeing what we have had to recruit against around the country makes it easy to see how difficult it has been over the years.

Well there you go. And we beat them last year in the old RAC. Talking to a guy in Lincoln who owns this sports memorabilia and museum for just Nebraska stuff told me they don’t care about basketball at all. I realize they are a football school but still; with that facility they should be killing it with recruiting. But the majority of their football and hoops players are from out of the area so I guess there are many other programs with more history??
Interest in the hoops program has been on a steady increase over the last 3-6 years. One of the main reasons why NU fired their AD last week(among several reasons) was that he didn't fire the hoops coach after the disaster that last season was. Nebraska has put $250mil into getting the hoops stuff(arena and practice) to compete with anybody. Now we want results.
I was going to post how the AD firing will impact Tim Miles - the Nebraska HC. If I recall from a few years ago, he had a terrific season and things were looking bright - and for the past few years, Nebraska Basketball has been mediocre - and any thoughts of Miles being a great up and coming HC have dimmered down. I would have to think that he is on the hot seat for sure.
The 2013-14 season they won 19 games overall 11 in the B1G.
They went to the NCAA tournament and were eliminated in the first round. That is the only season that Miles has guided Nebraska to more than six wins in conference play and more than 16 wins overall.
Btw, recruiting basketball players to Nebraska is a lot easier said than done despite the facilities. You almost always have to get out of state guys to want to come to Lincoln, Nebraska. In the 2018 class Nebraska got a commitment from their first in-state recruit since 2001. An unranked kid who has almost all mid-major offers. Creighton offered but I think they wanted to redshirt him and he wasn't having it.

Iowa was not in the NCAA tournament this year but they did go the three previous years. I guess that's all you're looking at.
The 2014 NCAA tournament was the first one they had been in since 2006 so I guess you and I have a different definition of "consistently."
Iowa hasn't won the regular-season conference Championship since 1979, they haven't won the B1G tournament since 2006, they haven't been to the Sweet 16 this century and they haven't been to the elite eight since 1987.
Recently Iowa had success with Steve Alford, then they sucked royally with Todd Lickliter. In Fran McCaffery's first season Iowa only won 11 games. One of those games however was against a ranked team. That win snapped a 25-game losing streak against ranked opponents for the Hawkeyes.
McCaffery hired a staff that was built to recruit. That and McCaffery being a good X & O guy has helped Iowa recently.
