Amen...........it all comes down to this. If the QB has the protection we will do fine but good QBs and WRs don't mean squat if the blocking isn't there.
And a QB with intangibles and elusiveness.Penn State's supposed weakness was the o-line. Remember all the sacks Hackenberg took? Funny how that o-line all of a sudden improved after they started handing the ball to SB.
Just give me a Pedro Sosa and a Betim Bujari in every class. One borderline pro and one solid lunch pail guy with a good sense for the game. Of course Zuttahs and Davises are fantastic but my dreams are smaller: give me a supply of Pedro Sosas.Amen...........it all comes down to this. Mobile QB and their line is also better than it was. They had very good OLine recruiting the past dlfew years as well.Penn State's supposed weakness was the o-line. Remember all the sacks Hackenberg took? Funny how that o-line all of a sudden improved after they started handing the ball to SB.
I never subscribed to the "Patton and Agudosi weren't good" rhetoric. Patton was behind secondaries more than anyone is willing to remember or admit.Agudosi and Patton, both with underwhelming RU careers, signing NFL contracts speaks to how bad our QB play has been recently. Play calling was obviously also an issue.

Coming out of the Quick Lane Bowl, I think everyone was very high on Patton's future. Both of those kids were poorly handled, as was Flanagan. Tsimis should have caught 30 balls a year. Carroo was just dominant on his own but suffered in his rookie year. Coaching dropped off dramatically after Schiano left.I never subscribed to the "Patton and Agudosi weren't good" rhetoric. Looked it up. 3 stars, four other offers (S Carolina, UVA, MD, INDY). So a good score at the time for sure. Interesting. I was talking more about outcomes though.Sosa was a pretty big recruit at the time.
