I am glad to see Todd Frazier join the Yankees as well as the return of David Robertson who was always one of my favorites. It is nice to have a Rutgers guy on the Yanks.

Superpsyched to see him in a Yankees uniform. It'll be interesting to see what type of contract he gets heading into next year. I think it's safe to say it'll largely be determined by how he performs the rest of this season.
. In all fairness, as great a player as he was at Rutgers, he struck out a fair amount even then.
The links to the archived statistics on the baseball site are down right now. But take a look later, you will see that that he did strike out significantly more than you would expect of someone that could hit .366 with 22 homeruns in a college season.
Nothing like now. He was a much different hitter. Hit the ball to all fields with power. He has a longer swing now & tries to pull much more. As a result many, many K's.
He should go back to his old style of hitting, which if successful, would benefit him as a free agent.
I was able to look at the numbers. For his professional career, he has struck out 24% of the time. For his last year of college, by far his best hitting year, he struck out about 21% of the time. I think it is fair to attribute that additional 3% to the upgrade in pitching.
