Recruit to Temple

All these recruits Temple's getting who couldn't have committed to Rutgers have the Owls at No. 41 right now (per Rivals). Eight three-star kids, too - same as Rutgers (again, per Rivals). I'm not flaming you, but maybe - just maybe - Temple's on their way to a nice class? I mean, for having to recruit the same turf as an AAC school? It's pretty impressive.

It could look different on signing day, but even Rhule never had a class this good at this point. I'm sure they lose a kid, but they just as likely get another to flip at the end, too.

The point is, why should we care about a single commit in June on a Rutgers board, with zero commentary?

I think the OP was pointing as much to the credit the kid gave to Panagos as the fact that he had an offer from Rutgers.

The kid does have a pretty good offer list. I haven't heard much about him but he looks to have a good offer list. That being said I don't even know if we were recruiting this kid because this is the first I ever heard about him.

Temple is recruiting smart for their position. They are also benefitting because we are taking a very small class.
Because of that, there may be that outliner kid they are getting that we may have taken a chance on in other years.
I don't see anyone on Temple that has a current commitable offer by Rutgers but I do see a couple that had hoped they could have committed to us.

If TU's class is at #41 it's likely due to numbers as opposed to actual potential player performance (same how BC currently has a "Top 25 class").

Yeah, they have 15 commits, but for comparison, Purdue and Texas Tech have 14 and 13, respectively (and 9 and 7 three-stars), but they are still 46 and 49. Running comparable with them, which might not win the Big Ten or the Big XII, but it's more than solid for the AAC.

Apparently every player that goes somewhere else that has a Rutgers offer can't commit to Rutgers. For such a small class why the hell is your staff "offering" so many players? I forget wh posted the numbers but Rutgers has offers out to a ton of kids. To me I think that may hurt the coaching staff and their relationships with High Schools in the future? What the hell do I know, could be totally wrong.

The Rivals rankings for classes tends to skew towards # of commits at this point as opposed to actual class quality so I really don't start paying attention to it until December/ January (and even then it's all subjective anyway). I really have no idea about the quality of the kids TU is getting one way or another but I doubt the class as it sits now is a 'true' 41 (like I said same with BC at #25; sorry but No.) Where does Rivals rate Alabama's current class?

Yes. Nice to see the the subtle art of reading comprehension is still exhibited by some.

I'll never understand why people come here and act mad/surprised that we're not singing the praises of Temple or other programs. I don't expect to go to other boards and see them giving Rutgers a sh#t worth of credit. In fact, I don't go onto other boards looking for Rutgers mentions at all because I know what it's going to be. Why would things be different here with Temple?

It's the afternoon before a 4 day holiday weekend, and we're all looking for a little levity to make it to the end of the workday?

4 day holiday? Oops I forgot. Every day has been a holiday for me since the end of January.

And many of us have Monday as a work day.

Not complaining but I worked most Christmas, New Years, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Memorial Day weekends for 20 years. Worked every Easter and Thanksgiving so I understand you very well.

Stars mean nothing in my opinion. Its all about offers when predicting a kids success in college. Looking at Temple's class. Most of their 3 star recruits do not have multiple P5 offers. Compare that to when Rhule was there. A lot of his 3 stars had multiple P5 offers which was pretty impressive.

What does it say that this thread has almost twice the replies than the thread about a new RU commit?

In all fairness, that post has more views. Some of us just find the whole, "Oh hai high school kid I've never met in real life who may or may not ever read this - Congrats! xoxo"" to be unnecessary. Especially given our recent history of decommits.

Yet it's fine to drone on endlessly about a high school kid who picks PSU. BC, or NC St?

When talking 2 & 3 stars this early before senior season- take offers with a grain of salt- they mean nothing
