This thread is completely stolen from another non-RU sports forum I'm on, and I'm sure they stole it from somewhere else as well. It's time to draft sandwiches. Just chime in with your next pick in the draft. Feel free to fight others if you don't accept it as a sandwich, but a pick is a pick.

Here's one man's list: https://www.thrillist.com/food/nation/national-sandwich-day

Rules from the above site:

1. Only with general sandwich styles, not specific sandwiches from this or that deli or restaurant.
2. Availability is taken into account. If there's an amazing sandwich that's only served by a Buddhist monk with gilded robes and particularly well-manicured eyebrows at the top of Machu Picchu, it's going to be docked points.
3. A specialty sandwich born at a particular restaurant, or endemic to a region, can still make the cut, provided it has been recognized as a general sandwich style recreated by other sandwich makers. Primanti lovers rejoice.
4. Certain sandwiches are grouped. We won't break down grinders by their various meat combos, but chicken salad is different from tuna salad.
5. If you can't pick it up with your hands, it isn't a sandwich.
6. For the purposes of this list, a hamburger is not a sandwich. It is a hamburger.
7. A hamburger sub is a sandwich, as it falls under the subset of Submarine Sandwiches, kind of like the Irish kid you went to college with who got a full ride for being 1/16th Swazi.
8. There will be no cased meats, including bratwursts, knockwursts, frankfurters, or spankfurters. If a sausage is sliced into rounds and piled between bread as a deli meat, it is a sandwich.

-----------------------------------------

With the 1st pick in the Sandwich Draft, I'm taking ...

1.) The Lobster roll.

2nd pick is on the clock ...

16th Pick: Gobbler (Thanksgiving Leftovers)

This is the Reuben Foster pick. I almost took it #1 but got great value when it slipped due to being out of season.

I cannot believe the Rueben has slipped so far. Gotta take that next. With kraut, not slaw

Kudos to everyone here for ignoring the so-called "fat" sandwiches. That BTN show Campus Eats better do the 17th pick next season..

19th Pick: Stromboli

The 'Boli from Stuff Yer Face (I liked the "Superboli", but any 'boli will do).

I like Jersey Mikes though kind of expensive. #8 club sandwich with spicy relish with banana peppers and jalapeno. Plus I like the "Jersey" heritage.

How ya doin'

No. Veto'd pick. Everything extra in a fat sandwich is better on the side. french fires.. better on the side. Mozzarella sticks, better on the side with some marinara dip. Other than that, the fat cat is just a burger.. and White Rose Cali-Cheese is a better burger.. as are many others.

Order one of the "secret" subs on the menu...#12. Get it Mikes way + mayo + pepper spread. You'll thank me later.
