You must not be a Rutgers fan. Sure hope you are rightWe can't be denied now... we're a shoo-in!
Losing to MD in triple OT is not a bad lossUh-hum ... 2016 anyone ... losing 3 against top 10 ... so I think they're in ... only bad loss was U of Del.
Not many scenarios where we don't make the tourney. Right now we are sitting about 6th for the 8 at-large bids. Biggest risk would be a combination of Albany losing in their conference final, North Carolina winning out including the ACC tourney and Nova winning the BE, with Albany, Duke, Cuse, UNC, Denver and UND all getting at large bids. That would leave two spots which would likely go to two BIG teams among RU and the 3 teams in the B1G tourney that do not win.
However UNC plays ND tomorrow so if UNC wins out that would mean at least 2 more losses for ND which may push them out of the picture. If UNC loses to ND, winning the ACC may not be enough (ACC does not have an AQ). Would also be tough for Albany without the AQ, with Yale as their best win and loses to Cuse and UMD.
UNC's schedule is wild! They definitely need to win. I can't see them get in at 7-8 despite a tough schedule.Duke is on the bubble and I think Noth Carolina has to beat Notre Dame to have a shot.

Duke may be on the bubble since their best wins are ND, to whom they just lost, and UNC potentially. If ND loses to UNC it makes that win a bit less impressive. Still hard to imagine Duke getting left out at 12-4 (assuming they beat BU). UNC actually has a better resume with wins over Denver & splits with Cuse and ND (if they win tomorrow) with both losses being 1 goal.Duke is on the bubble and I think Noth Carolina has to beat Notre Dame to have a shot.
I find 1 problem with your math. Shouldn't it bet 4 at large bids for the B1G. You have RU, PSU, Hopkins, Maryland, and OSU. 1 team gets the AQ and the other four get at large bids. But either way I think Cuse plus 2 of Duke, ND & UNC are getting in, especially if UNC wins the ACC. If ND wins the conf. they are in and are still in if they lose to UNC and beat Army. As long as Denver and Albany win their conference AQ it won't matter. Assuming 3 ACC teams, that leaves 5 spots among a field that includes RU, the 3 B1G non-champs, the Ivy runner up, the Colonial runner up, the Patriot runner up and a 4th ACC team.
I think it ends up being the 8 AQs plus 3 ACC, 4 B1G (including RU) and one of Army/Loyola/Hofstra/Towson, depending on how those conf. championships shake out.
#4 is a bad *** athlete
Yeah, reread what I wrote -- 8 AQs (which includes B1G) plus 3 ACC, 4 B1G (excl. AQ) plus one other (Patriot or Colonial).I find 1 problem with your math. I agree...I think RU matches up well with ND. UNC plays similar to us, fast paced, a lot of pressure on offense. Hopefully we sneak into the Top 8 and get a first round home game. Some projections have us playing them in the first round. Bring it on.
We have Army beat in both head to head and RPI. Not worried about them.Loyola beating Army. Puts Army on the bubble.
I see it both ways. On one hand you are right, 7 losses is 7 losses. However one thing I like about lax is that unlike football, you are rewarded (or at least not punished) for playing a tough schedule. In addition to playing an ACC schedule, they played JHU, UMD, Denver and Hofstra. That is a legit schedule.I am sorry but NC should not be in the tourney. They are 8-7, 7 losses is 7 losses. I don't care about who they played or the RPI. They are an average team at best. Congrats to them winning the ACC tourney but too bad your conference can't get one more team for AQ. Tough ****. When ND losses next week to Army, they should be behind RU too.
