I've been a fan and going to Yankee games since 1961. This team might be the worst yet. Possibly a 90 loss team.
Hoping the Steinbrenner kids, who have no interest in winning, sell the team.

Oh please. This team has a high ceiling as far as the young guys. To expect them to be clicking at the beginning of the year is unreasonable. That's what a veteran team does. Young teams have to develop a rhythm.

In all seriousness, here's hoping that Gary Sanchez injury is not that serious and he'll bounce back after the 10 DL trip. At least he doesn't have the Mets training staff to screw him over.

Well at least we know it's not just Mut fans who have unrealistic expectations after five games.

If you think this is the worst Yankee team since 1961, you must be Rip Van Winkle because the end of the 80's/early 90's was pretty rough.

WTF? Go to the Mets thread, pal. Most Mets fans are pretty realistic that they goofed by dealing away Ynoa and other middle relievers. And still too much reliance on the long ball and not enough team speed.
There are some pretty level-headed Yankee fans, but there are a couple of d-bags who seem to get their jollies pissing on the Mets.

Maybe the NL East will be more balanced this year. Braves are a better team. Philllies took 2 from the Nats and pounded them last night. Maybe the Fish are not so decimated by the loss of the drunk and coked up boater who killed himself and his friends.

Early season proclamations are like predicting the number of wins RU football will have after the Spring game.

lol relax Shift I'm not just talking about here I'm talking about the Mut fans all over FB, et al, who get excited at the beginning of every year when the Mets are the Kings of Quenns in April and May. They/you tend to forget that it's a 162-game long season, not 2 months, that's all.

Amazing what the weather will do:

Thursday there were $35 400 level seats available both on TM and StubHub...by Saturday the cheapest on TM were $325 and SH prices had doubled and then some. The 400 level corners were up to $80.

So pissed we didn't pull the trigger on tickets earlier last week.

Man, if we have good weather for the Rutgers Maryland game, some of us season ticket holders are going to make a fortune selling our tickets!

Is this for the Yankees? If so, are they still having issues with Stubhub like they did last year?

OK... I thought there no such things as a dumb question. And just because I'm a Mets fan doesn t mean I wouldn't want to see other baseball. Like when certain teams are in town.

Just asking because I didn't know if I should just go straight to ticketmaster and not even bother with stubhub because Yankees still don't accept printed Stubhub tickets like last year.

You're just jelly of the Yankees and their tradition and much larger fanbase.
That would be fake information. Recent poll said Mets were more popular. Y's are a boring organization whose time passed when Mr. Steinbrenner passed. Enjoy your game. Yanks need to get out of the basement.

Mets are more popular in a poll of Mets fans.

In all polls of baseball fans in NJ & NY the Yanks are vastly more popular, attendance reflects that too

Great crowd today at the Yankees game. Interesting that Yankee Stadium is sold out for 1:05 weekday game while Citi Field isn't even half-full for a primetime ESPN Sunday Night Baseball game. The idea that the Mets are even close to as popular as the Yankees in New York is laughable.

Dude...STOP...the Mets are NOT a "more popular" team than The Yankees. Not even close. ****, in NJ, they're not even #2 (a far 3rd behind Yanks/Phils).

oh boy...even as a Met fan since birth...Dad was a Brooklyn guy so there was never any love for the Yankee's, The Yankee's are still always going to be considered team #1 in the NYC/ area. Much like the Giants/Rangers/Knicks.
But, when the Met's are good, their fans are as crazy as it gets in the stadium.

Personally, I love seasons when both are good. Just makes for a really fun summer.

What's up with the Yankee dude in here who is a fan since 61 and says this may be the worst team ever? Are you kidding me? There were some Oscar Gamble teams that were horrible and no future talent on the teams to excited about either.

As a Mets fan, even I say that the Yankees are one of the more popular teams in the country, if not the world... let alone in NYC. Even I think that POLL is B.S. because they probably asked so called fans who were also Seahawks, Cavs, Warriors, Penguins fans as well. I could care less who want to be Mets fans today if they're not going to be in it for the long haul.

Full house at The Stadium today, unlike Mets home games of half empty seats
Luckily you guys got a beautiful day for a game. Forecasts looks pretty good for the next few days as well. Better that than the miserable, raw, windy 40 degree night I had to sit through last Wednesday at Citi Field.

How come no one is harping on the Nationals only drawing 25k for their games last week? Aren't they in first place?

Dude... Your Marlins and the Devil Rays were THIS close to being contracted back in the day. You guys couldn't even draw in one of the most state of the art stadiums in the country. You're an embarrasment.

Anyway, way to get it done today by the Yanks. Too bad some of their fans are not as likeable as their players.

Knight Shift comes on this thread complaining about Yankee fans on the Mets thread. But is a complete A-Hole on this thread. Like kbee he should be banned from this thread. He brings nothing to the table. Repeats bullcrap over and over. Two ban worthy issues.
Its Opening Day and he can't stop the bullship.

Not only you're a hypocrite and a fraud (talking about what one team is doing but your team is doing the same thing... Even more than the team you've been ripping), a troll (who will start with the condescending attitude when someone called you out on your b.s. and you have no answer for it)... You're superficial in that real fans are fans of a team because of the number of championships they won. Tell me where I'm wrong?

Then again, nevermind because all I'm going to do is wipe me *** with your opinion

Cya. Now go away and go on to your safe space by putting me on ignore... I'm pretty sure you're the type who will talk trash when I can't see you so I'm not worried about you.

Pineda with a great outing today. Needs this type of consistency to get the max. contract he wants at the end of the season though.

In more recent news, Mets have been to the WS and Playoffs in the past two years and the Marlins have had two losing seasons.

My apologies that I responded to this idiot in the Yankee thread. I had assumed he was still posting in one of his two Marlin threads.

My apologies to the Yankees fans as well. I also thought this was one of his Florida Marlins threads. My fault.

Good win for the Yanks on their opening day. Hope they do well this year.
