I would think that there is no number one right now. He may have taken the first snap or ran the first set but I think it is a little early to read into things.

Exactly. It doesn't mean anything right now. At least wait till you hear who's getting the most reps going forward.

Allen was bad but a lot of it was getting thrown into insane situations when we were already getting destroyed. He only threw 12 passes last year. I'm not really sold on Allen either and thought he looked bad last year but our entire offense looked horrible. Putting Allen in the Michigan game would be like putting a chicken in a cage with 11 foxes. I'd rather forget about that trainwreck with Mehringer and start everyone with a clean slate.

Yeah given our QB situation last year, the fact that he only threw 12 passes tells you a lot.

I agree clean slate for everyone, but I'm pretty confident in thinking Zach Allen will be no better then 4th best QB on the roster.

Lewis


and the end of August....

That blame falls on me. I started a thread middle of last season suggesting his future was not QB. With his frame/speed, Lewis coming in, Gio on roster, and a 1 or potentially 2 QB classing in 2018, I figured he would red shirt this upcoming year by default and be primed for a chance at PT at WR before considering "other options".

Apparently other people see what I see but of course there is nothing from the staff to suggest it.

Allen looked bad last year but so did everyone else. Mehringer would have Eli Manning running a zone read
