We have no idea how to win. We make every mistake imaginable every close game down the stretch. Pikiell should be telling his players not to shoot those threes.

Agree to disagree. Wasn't a talent thing tonight. We scored fine. Gave up EASY shots down the stretch. And our plays after timeouts were PATHETIC. Awful awful coaching.

Rutgers Women's Basketball a disgrace. Men's basketball sleeping for 20 years and still can't figure out how to close out a game. The football team can't win one game in its league.
And Rutgers athletics are looking up??????? (Yes, we have wrestling. )

Why is everyone so shocked or surprised? This team has taken massive steps into being competitive on a daily basis. However, the next step is closing more of these out which they are obviously incapable of. It is what they are and overall we should be content with that based on being absolute laughingstocks. Mike Greenberg even acknowledged and gave RU respect. The basketball experts and coaches are starting to give RU serious respect and its all very encouraging for year 1 of the Pikiell era.

Amazing coaching for 37 mins. Then the last 3 mins you decide to shoot three 3-pointers in a row instead of running a play to drive, letting Sanders drive, or dishing inside to Gettys ... pathetic. Even with NW 2 threes in the same stretch. Should have won.

You mean the play designed for Corey to drive the lane and he just dribbled the ball to the other player--THAT awful coaching?

The way they're competing with some good big10 teams is really encouraging to me. Pike is the real deal. Was he perfect tonight? No but he's been why they're even close. I'm frustrated short term but can't help to be excited for the remaining games and next year

Pikiell kept us in the game with his coaching! We have no talent! THAT'S the problem.
We have OK enough talent to win half of these close games that we consistently blow. You can't just chalk up every lose to this same tired excuse. Low talent mid majors routinely pull off upsets. We just have no clue how to close out a game. Talent is an issue in blowouts to upper echelon teams.

Referees kept NW in the game. Sanders took an ill advised 3 instead of driving to the basket. Williams missed a crucial free throw and Sanders turns the ball over. All that equals a loss. Another game that they let slip away.

For those with offensive blues looking to see a team with Rutgers on their uniforms score, go watch MLAX.

You mean go away from shooting 3's, which we shot well tonight, and drive the lane where we will get fouled and miss one out of two?

Well we are ranked 18th and we won today, so at least there's that. Had you said men's soccer, I would have agreed. But this season we'll have Eric Sa back from injury, so that should change.

Maybe 20 win teams know how to win these games. Would love to have that feeling again.. don't worry we're gonna pull it out .. instead of the feeling I have down the stretch. Hopefully coach can kill it recruiting with players that he desires

Would love to know what Chris Collins said to Coach, Nigel and Corey. Collins is a class act.

We have a coach and our basketball program back. Bring on Michigan, Maryland and Illinois.

Go RU

McIntosh was classy in his post game comments saying give credit to how good Rutgers played and they are moving in the right direction

I am rooting for Northwestern and Collins the rest of the way and in the NCAA tourney, great story, great coach, great kids. Doing things the right way and hopefully Pike can model his rebuild after theirs.

this....I seriously do not know why everyone is freaking out. Yes it sucks to lose but Northwestern is going to the NCAA tourney, this is not your fathers Northwestern or your grandfathers..they are up to 4th in league play I think. RU was toe to toe with them on the road

Your so wrong. Really great game! Well coached and well executed. Few bad calls but great game minus the loss.

The only thing Pikiell has done poorly this season is giving freeman too long a leash offensively. Wasting possessions. If he gets what's necessary in the 2018 recruiting class I think he turns Rutgers around.

Everyone is pissed we let this game slip away.
Understandable that emotions are pretty high because we are tired of losing.

But we just took Northwestern, a team on the verge of their 1st NCAA tournament appearance and one of the best in the B1G, down to the wire on their home floor.

Coach Pike has this team going in the right direction. No doubt about it.

Game after game, our guys come out and compete. They are getting better and better, and there is no quit in them when many teams might have packed it in by now.

Despite all the naysayers, GREAT game by Eugene - his best ever.

Shaq has really stepped up to find a role.

And CJ just keeps bringing it.

There were a lot of positives tonight.
We will bounce back!
Future is very bright!!

Its funny after every close loss people overreact like Rutgers is on the NCAA bubble thats what is so hillarious about this fan base. This year was about marked progress and Rutgers fans have that and should be very pleased about the status of the program currently.

We should have at least 5 B1G wins this year, which is what many of us were predicting after the OOC schedule. Just keep choking away wins at the end. It's brutal to watch, yet also incredibly encouraging at the same time. Killin' me.
Hope you feel that way during football, but on a positive note with Killiin it too. Plenty of time left.

They did run a play for Sanders (at the end of the game).

Rutgers played their best league game of the season and still only score 65 points. There is no margin for error because Rutgers lacks a go to scorer at crunch time. The pattern of playing pretty solid basketball for 35 minutes is a positive but the last 5 minutes Rutgers fails to match baskets and the game is then lost at the foul line.

For us now it's not a tale of two halves, it's (very quickly, thanks to Pike) gotten to the point where it's a tale of the first 37 minutes and a tale of the final 3. We can work on the final 3 because we finally have experience with it mattering.
