entire quarter and no field goals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

16 point first Q and you think they have found something
but then.........................
so many ways to be bad on O............
moving screen turnovers,
late in shot clock forced shots,
traveling
and when you get a good look just flat out miss
So frustrating

I turned it on us up 18-15 and now it is 23-18. Gosh we are just not able to shoot the ball or score at all. This season can't end soon enough. I will give my OSU tickets to my friend as I can't bear to watch this again.

I just put the game on and the announcer said Rutgers didn't make a basket in the second quarter.Wisconsin leads at half time 23-18.Its mind boggling that two teams in a power conference could score so few points.

I just checked that we beat this team by 16 points at home early in the year. Shows how much we regressed.

I turned it on at the same time.

Maybe we jinxed it!

I turned it off and going outside.
Let's see if that helps.

These are easily the 2 worst schools in the Power 5 conference....no excuse for CVS on this dreadful offensive performance...unwatchable for $700k

Scholarships are precious and they have been given to players who can't shoot. Both Rutgers teams have the same problem. College basketball at its worse describes this game.

I'm speechless. I just can't believe how poorly this team is on offense. They can't shoot from the outside on a consistent basis. They can't finish around the basket with a simple layup. And Stringer hasn't learned a thing about how to run an offense. She continues to have her two big women post at the elbow and then down to the low post and back without screening anyone. And the three guards/forward stay on the perimter and pass the ball around the outside of the three point shot until the clock runs down under ten seconds. That's not how you're going to score points or get back in a game.

When they were down 37-35 there seem to be no urgency to work the ball into our low post players. And after three failed possessions in which we once again tried to pass the ball around the perimeter without a set play to get it inside, Wisconsin actually made a three point shot to go up six. Going up six against our offensively challenged team may as well have been sixteen, because we couldn't make a shot on the other end. And then when you couple that with the usual reach-in fouls by us and terrible officiating where the officials who always seem to be out of position, call a foul in anticipation without a foul even occurring it's a recipe for losing.

I know next year will be different because we get our playmakers back, but geez, Stringer---learn how to coach offense. We know you're a master at defense, but your offensive coaching skills are wanting. Get an assistant who you respect and trust to implement an offense or else I'm afraid we will see a repeat of this movie like we've seen in the last six plus years. Come on Vivian, we're rooting for you to succeed. Don't go out the way Chaney did. You're better than that.

You think next year will be better? Yeah. Maybe close to .500. That is my question, why can't you hire an assistant that has an offensive brain?

It seems to be a carry over effect from once practice ended and the season started. Just need to play better to be competitive, but with no offense there aren't any answers. You would think this is a player's dream to get time on the court and show what you can do. Nobody looks like they can be a good D1 BB player, but something has to change for next season. They still try hard and deserve our support.

Every team plays us zone because they know we can't shoot. This is a 27 point turn around in the two games we played them.

This was horrible to watch, which won't stop me from a couple comments:
- We were "hot", especially from 3 the last time we played them. Yes, sometimes you win just because. I doubt we are actually playing that much worse or them that much better across the board, just a 1 game sample.
- I saw a lot of relative negativity about Wisconsin in this thread. Yes, they are not a good basketball team, but they have a new coach who couldn't turn them around in one year. One year turnarounds are the exception, not the norm. At least he hired a former Rutgers player as one of his assistant coaches, Myia McCurdy.
- Some of the plays that Rutgers players made/didn't make simply boggled the mind. And not in a good way.
- Based on the limited games I have seen, part of Rutgers problem is at times (short ones, perhaps) we can look quite good or talented, and then play like we don't know how. Regardless of how much blame folks want to heap on Vivian or how much blame she deserves (not necessarily the same thing), you can see she is positively frustrated.

Still, they are my team and I continue to root for them. As someone above noted, regardless of the coach in charge they will be better next year. More experience, Scaife and the transfers. I have never claimed a crystal ball to know how much better, just better.

Sure they will be better next year. What a great statement. How could any team be worse? We are 6-21. Duh?

Bill, unless their record is an "O-fer" it can always be worse, I guess.
However, I would hope that double digit wins would be the absolute minimum criteria to continue on with CVS, if she starts next season as our coach.

I just checked ... We were their first win ... Pathetic.
I am a great believer in truth. That is not true, they just recently beat the other dreadful B1G team, Nebraska. In fact Nebraska is the worst team, with only one win, unfortunately that was us.

This season cannot be sugarcoated. That this was apparently announced back in November by the coaching staff as the likely results this year does not make it any more pleasant.
