Cool that he mentioned a lot of the staff coached at Rutgers when discussing recruiting territory.

I liked FAMILY and think it will play in the Midwest.

Yeah... it was pretty terrible (douche chill inducing actually). He can use it and keep it. No charge.

I personally like it better than the Hunt. Not really a team sport concept for players to get behind.

Holy Crap! The band is really getting back together and they're even stealing our lyrics.

RU did manage to Hunt down Howard and New Mexico, the rest of the games we were the prey.

Turns out #TheHunt (#ThePunt) #CHOP FAMILY, whatever it is are all just lame gimmicks when you don't win. Win and nobody cares

The family thing did nothing for me; just seems corny.
We have 5 players in the Superbowl who went through that team-first approach.

I, too, thought it was corny when I was told what it meant. But we didn't have players going robbing dealers when the guy who established that motto was here.

YUCK - wonder who first developed that whole "team inspiration" package - was it really a Rutgers original?

Seeing it get re-purposed like that makes it appear like it is some
Comprehensive multi-component Inspiration / motivation package
...that can be bought from some consulting firm (the Sports Excitement & Inspiration subsidiary of Tony Robbins enterprises ?)

It is like some of the small market car dealer campaigns - that you will see in similar versions pop up in different parts of the country

- note the goal & intentions are excellent - it is the 'packaged ' stuff that is corny

Ash uses The Hunt as a play on to when OSU used The Chase the year they won the 1st College Football Playoff. The year after OSU had another saying that I don't remember. So, yea, there goes that theory.

Let's hope Ash drops the goofy OSU stuff like the helmet stripes and swing arms on the kick-offs and comes up with some original ideas.

- hated "FAMILY" but hope all the talkiing heads makes it known that Fleck brought it from RU

- Fleck CAN'T use "row the boat" it has been, IIRC, both trademarked and licensed by Western Michigan

- nothing wrong with #thehunt, et al, nothing at all. Same with the "arm swings." plenty of teams do it now not just "Ohio State." It's a timing thing, not a "look at us thing," duh.

Good god, I think they just did that in a lame attempt to mask just how bad our special teams were.

I saw P.J. Fleck on BTN talking about the credo he is establishing at Minnesota: "F.A.M.I.L.Y" (Forget About Me I Love You). I'm so glad Ash abandoned that at RU when he arrived. I cringed when I saw it on the backs of RU players a few years go.

It appears he may have also abandoned winning --- CHOP!

I didn't say they shouldn't do it if it works for them. Just did nothing for me which shouldn't be high on their priority list.

I'd charge a $1 kinda like colleges do to HS's that want to use their logo. It would be a nice middle finger type move.
