13. Penn State
14. Rutgers

Tons of surprises. Have to tip the hat to Nebraska on the 3-0 start after a pretty mediocre non conference finish. Still not convinced they are for real long term this year ie NCAA tourney but for now they deserve to be in the top 5

Wisconsin proving to be top dog right now with Purdue and Michigan State a notch behind but along way to go. I think Indiana needs to find a win and fast or their season could implode. Ohio State is down this year but still almost beat Purdue. That shows the fine line between schools 4-12. I think clearly Penn State and Rutgers are several notches below the rest. Illinois is a mystery team who as upside to surprise. Iowa is young so see a bottom half finish for them and no NCAA tourney but on a one game basis they are dangerous to play.

This weekend matchups...

Michigan State vs Penn State at Palestra.....This game will be closer than you would think, MSU will not play as well as they did vs RU but have too much talent here

Maryland at Michigan.....very intriguing game, UM has been shaky in its first two games barely escaping PSU and losing to Iowa but I think they and the crowd will be hyped for this one and edge out the mystery Terps.

Illinois at Indiana....Hoosiers can't lose another home game can they? Hard to imagine, Illinois has improved but Indiana is desperate here and will win

Northwestern at Nebraska....its only game 4 but this is a game with NCAA implications already. Nwstern needs to stop a minislide, havent played bad at all, Nebby are the miracle kids but I have hunch that it ends today after that emotional Iowa win...Collins and Cats escape with a win.

Wisconsin at Purdue....showdown for Big 10 best comes earlier...should be a fantastic game. I like the Badgers here to pull the road upset

Rutgers at Iowa....Iowa so young and improving rapidly but how will they bounce back after that hardfought double overtime loss. RU needs to get on track with a solid effort after some dismal games and I think this will be close at times but Iowa pulls away

Ohio State at Minnesota....OSU almost pulled the upset over Purude but now run into a hot Gopher squad who are brimming with confidence. Little Ricky gets another one

Only 1 game, but I stand by Michigan State not that good (guards) and Penn State isn't that bad.

Today shows I am not a moron.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

No, but the poster who called MSU a "great" team certainly is.

maybe but maybe not...who are they better than thats the question is a conference where anyone except 14 can beat everyone else. Today further illustrates how far this program has to go.

Ill give them props for beating MSU but they still finish in the bottom 4. MSU played pretty poorly today, out of control, low bball iq while PSU seemed jacked and was focus.

I'm tired at looking at league rankings with Rutgers once again in last place.Penn State defeating Michigan State is another ominous sign of how far behind Rutgers is in talent.Fan predictions of 4-6 league wins now looks like wishful thinking and instead concern should be on who Rutgers can defeat without a offense?

and Chambers is in his 6th year and it shows you hard it is to get out the basement
In Rutgers case it might be even harder based on the number of consecutive seasons with a losing record and without 1 NCAA bid.History in the Big East clearly shows the challenges facing Pikiell and staff in the B1G where there are no easy wins..

Northwestern just escaped Nebraska with a big road win handing the Huskers their first Big 10 loss and will try to become road warriors at the RAC on Wednesday

That looks good. Going to be a battle with 1/2 of the B1G about to appear in a month and a half on your bubble.

The entire Big 10 , including Rutgers, is a crapshoot every night. As Bac has said there are no give mes iin this league. On any given night you better bring it or you will leave the arena with a L. On the other hand, there are no elite teams that are unbeatable. We have been on the road 5 of the last 6 (playing better on the road in years) but need to get back to the RAC and win a few. We played our worst game of the year against Penn State but I am hopeful the rest of the home slate gets us over the top and out of the bottom of the conference.. Ohio State is 0-3 , rather remarkable .
