I was flipping channels two minutes ago and saw this game listed, and before hitting the Enter button, I predicted that Cuse would be up by 17. I did a triple take when I saw they were down by 30 damn 5. And then I was happy.

I have a great picture I took off the TV of Boeheim with his head in hands with the score below him. Wish I could figure out how to post it

Has to be humbling to Boeheim to be out coached by Chris Mullin. Doesn't matter in the long run. Syracuse is an automatic to the Big Dance no matter what.

I don't know what happened but Robertson from Union via Roselle Catholic his last 2 years was very good for Cuse last year. Now he must be in the dog house as he rarely plays. I think this is his senior year and Cuse looks horrible.

That's a shame.

Boeheim's style is archaic. Totally ineffective. We'd beat them easily.

Boeheim is older than dirt. Do i blame Battle, no. But I have more respect for a guy like Zuttah who came to Ru football when we were bad instead of going to Ohio State.

I hadn't seen either team play live prior to catching a few minutes last night. I heard nothing but bad things about SJU but it was a combination of them looking pretty good and the Cuse looking awful while I was watching.

Weren't they in the Final 4 last year ?

When you get beat that bad IMO you aren't outcoached-------you're outplayed by better players.

I was flipping around and came across this game on YES Network.

Was surprised to see SJU up 20 points and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the the SJU dunkfest over the dejected Rotted Fruit players.

The stands looked like a football game up there with so many empty rows of metal bleachers.

I don't like SJU much but it was so much fun seeing Syrapuke get embarrassed.

SJU was a 14 point underdog last night, maybe this game can give RU little more hope tomorrow night.

Is Syracuse supposed to be bad this year? Before this game, I was surprised that they lost to Georgetown at home, then this debacle. Even in down years they are usually pretty good, but this is crazy, mainly because St. John's was playing so bad up until this point.

Boeheim retiring after this year, correct?

Unless they make some tremendous hire, I don't see them continuing to be a national power. Don't think Hopkins has quite the gravitas as Jimmy-boy. And Syracuse the city, as we all know, kind of sucks. Who knows, I've been wrong before (occasionally)

Given the dumpster fire we were and the lack of coaching fundamentals under Eddie and the media shitshow under Rice? And our lack of facilities? I don't fault kids for having gone elsewhere.
Elsewhere is one thing. That particular school - well I will never ever never ever get on board with that.

Battle is having a typical Freshman year. I don't think he comes out for the NBA after 1 year. He may need another year of development where he can avg 30 mins per game, 10+ pts per game along with a better assist to turnover ratio.

In 6 games that Cuse lost or won by less than 20 here are battles averages:
Mins per game - 23
Pts per game - 6.67
Rebs per game - 1.33
Assists per game - 1.5
Fouls per game - 2.2
Turnovers per game - 1.67

Look at it this way... Battle comes to RU, maybe, just maybe EJ still has a job at RU.

No thanks. I'll take Coach P.

the bad news- tho trivial - since Penn State beat the Johnnies - the Nits jumped ahead of us in the latest sagarin ratings.

Would be nice to see them have a bad year since that kid Battle wanted nothing to do with RU.

Seriously? You have go be kidding. How can you blame a kid for not going somewhere? Especially a place that has had nothing but losing, and usually in a way that's worse than just being bad? That's just idiotic.

Now, if a kid makes disparaging comments -- that are NOT true (there is a difference) -- during the process, that's different. Hate all the way. But if you can play at a school that hasn't been routinely mocked for its basketball team for most of the past 25 years, why wouldn't you?

Me, I hate Syracuse because it's Syracuse. And because it's Boeheim. And I'm old enough to remember when they were a rival, or at least one of the other really good teams in the East. I'm not a fan of St. John's for the same reason, but between the two, it's not hard to pick. F Syracuse. F Boeheim.

Ya we did and went to the Final Four, we are terrible right now, no debating that, but to say that Boeheim lost it, or can't coach anymore is absurd.

I agree he still can coach , he's just finding it harder to be a great coach without cheating after being caught.

Orange you supposed to be good, Syracuse?

Currently down 33 points at home to a bad St. John's team. So fun to watch this disaster.
This one shocked me when I saw the final score. And the game was played in Syracuse. I know this is not one of Boeheim's stronger teams, but St. Johns by thirty???? St. Johns stinks.
