Neither. Like every stud in the country he wants an OSU offer. Rumor is they are over signed, have higher rated prospects, and isn't a take. So we wait

I don't think they are over signed. Would this have to do with Shaun Wade?

there is only one reason you dont commit, you are waiting for a BBD (thats a bigger better deal, if you never saw the movie Hardbodies. An 80's classic.)

It's what one of their mods from another site told a friend

The over sign or the part about Wade?

I know they are tight with #s but let's not pretend like Urbs won't process someone or even simply stop talking to a current commit to make the room. Not posting this as a flame or sour grapes, just typing out the obvious.

No doubt. I just don't think Bell is high enough on Juan list at this time. Think they are stringing him along. Could be wrong. Often am. Lol

Unless you have not been keeping up, His dream school is OSU, but it looks more and more like OSU is not going to offer him unless something weird happens. This is not because he is not a great player but because they are all filled up in that spot. Rutgers is a strong 2nd, with Maryland and VT in the mix.

Right now, everyone is just waiting to see what OSU will do.

All of this information is from Twitter, so TIFWIW.

As much as we want him here - I respect his move and hope things work out for the best for him.....which of course is coming here! ;)

He is trying to do the right thing here, he doesn't want to commit to Rutgers, then a week later OSU says "hey a spot opened up" and he flips, making us look bad for no good reason.

This happens with most students, normally we don't hear about this backstage stuff unless it is a high profile recruit. Anyone who knows parents or are parents of HS athletes know what I say is true and that is at every level in every sport from D3 to D1.

OSU could ask him to enroll in January (gray shirt). I wonder if he would agree to this?

For those that have seen the famous Humphrey Bogart movie, this is where RU ends up on an annual basis with some of these top recruits. Casablanca, where people wait and wait and wait.

Agree that he is waiting for a better offer. Hope we have a good backup plan. Don't want to get left at the altar late in the recruiting game again.

Newell there was another 80's movies where they used 3 letters for similar-or so you have hardbodies slihtkly wrong. I remember "BBT" I think-or "Bigger and better things". Same movie?

OSU doesn't have a spot for him right now. They are waiting on Browning and Werner. If Browning goes to Alabama and Werner goes to ND, Bell goes to OSU. Right now both are leaning to OSU which would push Bell to RU.

That's why we have Mantz. I recall reading in comments somewhere (and they were just that, comments to a NJ.com story) that Ash reached out to Acosta, and he was not interested.
Partridge will not help in NJ. Besides, Ash has made MAJOR strides in NJ. Read this slideshow to see what Mantz says:

Please dont question my 80's movie knowledge.

Scotty Palmer: I didn't pick them up. I dialogued them.

Hunter: Dialogued them?

Scotty Palmer: Yeah, I gave them a little dose of the old BBD.

Hunter: BBD?

Rounder: That's not like herpes, is it?

Scotty Palmer: BBD - it's the bigger and better deal.

100% this. Everything is on standby until they announce.

Damn I never thought I would see that reference -- or immediately recognize it. Nice work.

We are not over signed. We have 15 commits and will take 21 or 22 this year.

The problem is a log jam of who will be in. We have a number of 5 * and high 4 * that list us in their top 3 and we are waiitng to see who commits. There is Interest in Bell but the staff ranks him behind some other guys, so until they see where those others are going they won't make him a commitable offer. Chiano like shim and is pushing for him though.

Fingers crossed on Bell, who would likely play immediately at RU, somewhere on the field.
Reel him in Ash!!

Wish we had your problems. I know it is autocorrect, but I spit my drink out on my screen when I read "Chiano like shim." Chiano always said at RU that "this house is built on a strong foundation," and would not have thought he liked shims.

Have you ever been to Bridgeton? A guy from West New York is about as foreign to a kid from Cumberland County as a guy from Ohio.

So Browning committed to OSU. Any idea on when Werner is committing?
