Mike Williams hits a 3 pointer. He has 14 points and the best Rutgers player tonight.

Could've been worse. Not happy. Not satisfied with 12 point loss. But at least encouraged that Pikiell will not tolerate giving up, no matter how horrendous a shooting team we are.

1. When did Eastern Airlines recover from bankruptcy?

2. Why didn't Mike Williams get minutes earlier?

3. Why haven't I filled out my women's volleyball bracket yet?

Just got home and looked at box score. What happend to Freeman tonight?
Concerned that maybe he's overmatched against power conference type front lines. Just a horrendous overall game. Got a few baskets after the outcome was determined. He was actually worse than the box score indicates. Atrocious first half. 0-6, no rebounds.

73-61 final score.Team never gave up which is credit to Pikiell.Good learning experience.for Rutgers. It was a game of runs but Miami simply had better talent.

You can't be too upset with this loss. On the road, one of our best players (freeman) played awful, they had a 17-0 run where we didn't score for 8 minutes in the second half. We definitely need to find some shooters. BUT they never gave up, they fought back into the game, showed a lot of toughness against a much more athletic and let's be honest, better team. Last year we lose this game by 30. We are definitely on a path towards success, and I'm very excited for the future.

Really? Not doubting you, I just haven't projected that far out.

I really have no idea as I don't watch much college basketball outside of Rutgers lol.. but I can't imagine many teams have the length and quickness of Miami

His height is an issue, but some of the shots he missed were easy makes for him. Just an uncharacteristically rough night.

no but they will have other stuff that will be an issue, such as size at guards and deadly 3 point shooters or trees in the middle, pick your poision, I do not think this game was a good matchup at all for RU because of Miami's length

Sucks to lose, but there are a lot of positive takeaways: (1) this team has heart/does not give up, (2) made a lot of mistakes that can be fixable as the year goes on, (3) we are going to win some league games. Pikiell is clearly a great coach. He is going to get some good players over the next few years and build something great here. 2018 has a big time class out of NJ and NYC, we may actually land some studs.

Sucks to lose, especially since we could have won this one, but I feel great about where this program is going. Something I was unable to say during any loss (or win, in football this year).

Fellow poster called it moral victory, not me. I hate the phrase.

Major improvement, awesome coaching, great effort . . . Just not moral victory.

I do agree with you on all that..its not a moral victory, moral victory is close game losing by a couple possessions, the outcome wasnt in doubt tonight after the 15 minute mark of the 2nd half, doesnt mean we didnt play hard but its silly calling this a moral victory

Definitely a Different team from last year. If we had a decent freeman tonight I think we have a shot. Williams looked great and wish he had more opportunities to shoot throughout. Sanders shooting was a bit out of control but I think he settled down and did better getting his teammates involved as the night went on. Disappointed because it looks like they're a player or two away from actually winning this game but still can't help but to have a smile on my face hahha

Despite the final score this game makes me more optimistic for the season.
Some B1G fans, and teams, are going to be surprised what we do this year. Agree with a previous post that last year, after being down 19 , this would have been a 40+ point loss.
Let's get back on track Sunday.

This team desperately needed to get wins early in the season. I loved our early schedule....until 725PM tonight.

We definitely weren't ready for Miamis length and athleticism. Passes weren't there that were before, rebounds weren't coming to us, and interior D was a HUGE issue.

Didn't Quit, played hard (and played ugly), on the road, lost by twelve. Team needs to learn to play all 40 minutes. Remember, they never had to do that before, especially against a quality opponent. Coach P will use the is game as a teachable moment. I liked the look of the press at the end of the game. As the season progresses and they get better I would like to see more of that. This team doesn't score enough to give up a 15-0 run early in the second half. For a reason unknown to ke we looked like a different team during that stretch. Clean that up and we will be much improved. Remember someing else, with the exception of CJ and assuming Sanders doesn't go to the NBA, this entire team returns next year. Good times ahead. Go RU

No 3's from the corners. Freeman missed the first 3 layups. Miami has great interior defense but gave some points away on turnovers for fast break points and fouls. Good scrappy game to get ready for conference play on the 27th. I really want to beat Seton Hall at the Pru Center on the 23rd. Good game to go to. Friday night but it starts at 6:30....ack. Tickets are pricey.

Made it a 40 minute game and the team played hard for all 40.

That alone is a huge difference----definite change in culture taking place for RU Hoops.
