what would this board look like??

I'd be far more devastated. At least we know we're bad and we're working towards something. Is the Gap that wide between the legitimate playoff teams and the rest? How did OSU lose a damn game.

A lot of things went wrong vs PSU, and that happens sometimes. It is hard, even for a supreme team, to have a perfect season.

When I look at Nebraska vs OSU, I look at coaching, and yeah, I do see a big gap.

Who cares ?
We are winless in 11 straight B1G games.
I can give 2 shats about the Huskies getting blown out in one game.

I like to think that the OSU/PSU game, and then the OSU/Neb game, are indicative of the difficult of winning games in the Big Ten. And it's why I've said repeatedly, that once we've recruited and built our way to competitiveness in the Big Ten, we STILL aren't going to have a lot of "gimme" games like we used to with some of the Schiano-era weak-*** schedules.

Also, IMO, one of the great things about CFB is that, perhaps due to the fact that the game is played by relatively young people, the variation in a team performance from week to week is often more dramatic than is seen at the pro level. Which makes things a bit less predictable and more exciting.

you should care. Thats my point. If we were huskers fans, youd be sitting there thinking you are ready to compete and look what happens.

It comes down to money and how much of a school wants to spend. Right now OSU, Mich and to a lesser extent PSU are willing to invest 10's of millions in their football programs which is why they have a profound edge over every other program. If your question is "how dejecting is Nebraska's loss for diehard RU fans? I would say very upsetting. To get anywhere near Nebraska's talent will take a major effort on Coach Ash's part. To get anywhere near Ohio state university's talent is almost impossible.

Even with Schiano's easy scheduling, we never had any "gimmie" games. Other than Howard and the 1-AA schools.

It was cold & rainy and an away game for OSU at PSU. Last night was not cold and dry and at home.

Also, Tommy Armstrong went down with what appeared to be a catastrophic neck injury; ambulance ride from the field to a hospital and all. Backup who has seen limited duty over 3 years came in and didn't play well.

Urbs looking to get back in the playoff picture. Never took his foot off the gas.

Correction: OSU, Mich, AND Penn State invest 10's of millions in their football programs. There is no distinction among the three. All are blue-bloods with massive fanbases playing in massive stadiums willing to pay massive coaching salaries.

We are 4-18 within the B1G since joining the conference. I would take Nebraska's situation every day and twice on Sunday.

Because they played Penn State and got beat. That's how.

In a combo of scheduling quirk and bowing to the TV gods, OSU had to play two 8 pm prime time TV games in a row, both on the road, against teams that were coming off a bye week (Wisconsin and PSU). In the second game vs. PSU, even though OSU sleep walked through a sub-par performance in all three phases of the game, they still would have pulled out a close win if not for one play - the bizarre rushed FG attempt late in the game (with a timeout in the bank) that got blocked and returned for a TD. However, whatever issues they were having vs. Wisc. and PSU (esp. on offense) appeared to have been ironed out vs. Nebraska. Whether the improvement will continue throughout the stretch run remains to be seen. Meyer called it the growing pains of a very young team (only seven seniors in the two-deep and 18 freshmen).
