Now is not the time to abandon this team. In fact, just the opposite. They will need fan support during the tough times to keep their heads up and maintain a positive attitude. Hopefully talk of not renewing season tickets is just a knee jerk reaction. If anything, enthusiastic fans in the seats is what's needed now more than ever. If we want NJ's best players to attend RU, we have to show them NJ's best fans will support them in good times and bad.

I doubled down and wore Rutgers jersey and hat to local giant supermarket outside of philly - 80 year old man walks up and says "your boys took one on the chin last night" my response was something like "yes sir"

Gotta support - it's easy to be a notre dame fan( bunch of bandwagon fans that never even been to Indiana ), hard to be a Rutgers fan. Stay the course and be proud of the *** beating, it can only get better from here

Depends how many years you feel like you have been kicked in the gut.

I think the players need to find it within themselves. Attendence will drop (at least untl Penn State). That said RUTGERS JUST PLAYED 3 OF THE 5 TOP TEAMS IN THE COUNTRY. The rest of the teams on the schedule aren't world beaters. Penn State might be the best of the 5 but their best win might be Saturday's Maryland win. They have a pretty big loss also. We play them at home, it's a rivalry type game and I'm sure the players remember the last two years.

Michigan state on the road wlll be tough but they already lost to Indiana. Is Indiana THAT much better than Rutgers?

Indiana beat Michigan St but lost to Wake Forest. Other win was Florida International.

Iliinois and Minnesota-certainly not world beaters. Both beatable.

Rutgers has already played the best of the best-3 of the top 5.. We're not at that level and got our butts kicked. The rest of our schedule is certainly not at that level. If Rutgers can get the offense going and keep the defense rested there's nobody unbeatable for the rest of the year. We've had teams that started the year badly (Teel's senior year? comes to mind)-given the remaining schedule (even with grant and Lambert out) nothing is impossible.

I would never give up on our football program under any circumstances. Our resilience is being tested but we will rise again, maybe even this weekend.

Indiana isn't that much better than RU, but they have a QB that can actually throw the ball.

Long ago a coach was quoted on the topic of loyalty. I'll paraphrase but it basically says anybody can cheer for a team when things are going well, but true loyalty comes from the down times. The former is noise. The latter is loyalty.

The down side of the quote for Rutgers fans is the quote came from Fielding Yost, long time head football coach at Michigan.

Yes I think (and obviously the coaching staff did) Ash needs to give the other QBs reps-if not replace Laviano if his troubles continue (some of that may be the O-Line). I really think Rutgers should be playing a QB who likes to run. RU has great receivers-they need to keep the defense honest and open up the offense. Supposedly that's Mehringer's expertise but he also needs the horses.

Part of the above is that Rutgers has faced 3+ top defenses. It should be easier to move the ball against the 2nd half of the schedule.

Not saying Rutgers is better than any of these or will be favored in any of these games. However, with improved, error free play Rutgers is certainly capable of beating any of the remaining teams on the schedule.
