This video makes me sick....watching them open up that great looking New Jersey pizza box while I am out here in Columbus, Ohio eating the worse pizza in the civilized world, bad pizza cut into square pieces. There is only 1 spot in all of Columbus and its surrounding area where I can get New Jersey style pizza and it's a 40 minute drive.

I'm in Grandview. There is one place on the OSU campus. Flying Pizza. But, Yelp reports it as being closed. http://www.yelp.com/biz/flying-pizza-columbus

The place I was referring to that is 40 minutes from me is in Powell. Brooklyn Pizza - http://www.brooklynpizzapowell.com/

The first thing I do when I get back to New Jersey to visit is stop for Pizza.

My brother used to deliver Filippo's Pizza back in the day. Fed many guys from the final four team. The pizza was good but Filippo was tight with a buck and wouldn't give a free pizza to Gina Lollobridgida. BTW, internet search confirms that both Filippo's and Gina are still around.

I feel for you but the pizza in SW FL is probably far worse than what you are having in Columbus, OH. The best local pizza we can get here is from a guy named Rocco from Bloomfield, NJ. But he would be out of business in Essex County if he served this pie up there. And so it goes.

Pizza by the slice still open on campus? If you work downtown cafe neopolitana is also ok

I love near Grove City and am not thrilled with the pizza down here either

Think you have trouble finding good pizza? I live in Hong Kong.
Actually, the pizza here is pretty good, and I'm not talking Pizza Hut either.

Try LA. I have given up. Actually, I met this guy Rob who has taken Joe's pizza out here from NYC, and he swears it's legit. I have just been burned too many times to give it real thought. Pizza here is so bad it's comical.

Does anybody remember when Bob Wenzel was the coach and went on that great run to the Atlantic 10 championship? When we got the home game for the championship against Penn State the students lined up the night before tickets went on sale. When Bob got to the arena and saw this he went out and bought all the pizzas he could to distribute to the students waiting on line. Nothing staged, no cameras.

Schiano bought pizza for the students camping out before the 2006 Louisville game (I think, could have the game wrong). It was covered by the press.

Do you know of of the Bada Bing near or around Ft. Meyers? Will get more info on a guy who would know about it. Not 100% on their pizza but I do know their Italian is supposed to be good.

Ah my friend, LA is so big there is always something! I know we've discussed this in the past---willing to bet we blow places like Columbus and SW FL away

Grimaldi's in El Segundo?? Best in the city
It's not NY pizza but in your neck of the woods Stella Barra is a place we frequent
Joes is good and they actually make a real deal Sicilian which is nearly impossible to find out here
Village in Larchmont also makes real pizza

Spent 27 years in Columbia, Md, between DC and Baltimore. Many places in suburban Md offered "New York style" pizza, but it just wasn't the same as you could get in New Brunswick. Had to do with the crust--in NY/NJ, you could fold the crust over, and it just tasted different and felt different in your mouth. Not that Md pizza was awful--the worst pizza I ever had was when a bunch of us were on a Baseball Trip to see minor league baseball games. At one place in Iowa, we asked a local at the ballpark, and he sent us to the place he said was great. Awful. As above, cut into squares. Flavored cardboard. Probably many Midwest-born and raised posters will rise to the defense of Midwest pizza, but you guys will have to admit the pizza in NY/NJ, New York style or Coney Island style was far better than what you had at home.

"if we get to the final four, I will bring filet mignon"

I might sign up for a job with the ticket office.

I believe this guy will get us to a respectable+ level of basketball.

Both of my parents were from the Wyoming Valley, which is the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area in Pennsylvania. They used to rave about the Victory Pig in Forty-Fort. The place has been in existence since 1942 and still owned/operated by the same family. Don't compare it with pizza from NYC/NJ. If you do you're doing a disservice to yourself and the pizza. It's different. It's only open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The slices are rectangle. Eat and enjoy it for what it is... tasty goodness, to be sure. If you're ever in the area be sure to give it a try.

Brian Leonard was helping give pizza to the students, wearing an RU hooded sweatshirt, hood on, until someone recognized him.

What about the pizza joint in Westwood that had the water flown in from NY. This was about 35 years ago. It was very good NY style pizza. Also, by the slice

Pauly's Pizza down in San Diego is pretty good for east coast pizza on the west coast. Feels like a real NYC/NJ slice joint when you walk in.

40 minute drive??? I live in southern Maine and these dummies have no idea what real pizza is. Every gas station and convenience store sells "pizza" and every one of them cooks the pizza in a brick oven on the friggin' metal plate!!! I've "suggested" that they try putting it directly on the brick and they look at me like I'm from outer space.

The best pizza in Maine is located 2 1/2 hours away, up in Ellsworth (near Mt. Desert Island National Park). Guys are from Brooklyn and know what they're doing. There's another really good pizza place in Wells so that's only 40 minutes away. I can hit it about 1x every 2-3 months.

I miss good pizza. Made by Italians. Not red headed Irishmen.
