I am tempted to check out a game at UNR next season to see what the draw is. It's only about an hour away from me. Reno, obviously, isn't a great city. Summer is hot and windy. Winter is cold and windy. Maybe they are pulling a Louisville and having recruiting parties at the brothels? :::shrug thingie:::
I'll tell you what a big part of the draw is:
Eric Musselman is the HC.
He is really good at developing young talent and getting them better each year they play for him.
Also, two of his assistants are Yann Hufnagel and Dave Rice. Those two guys are recruiting monsters.
Kids LOVE Hufnagel.
Weather is overrated in most recruitments. Plenty of cold weather locations recruit well. Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Iowa and Iowa State, Gonzaga, Wyoming's staff convinced a couple of Florida kids to come there.
If your sales pitch is good it can overcome a lot.
