Hmmmmmm yeah ur right.. ur not attacking anyone at all.. Oh wait... whose words are these in the bold? certainly not mine.... Look, we all want to see the best for Rutgers... But the way ur going about things is only serving to piss people off.. You aren't helping anything by talking out ur ***!! The people who care the most are here on these boards.. These are the ones who do donate... What we need are new donors!! Get alumni involved who haven't been involved before...Get the casual Rutgers fans who just go to a game here and there more involved... You come on here and call people "cheap losers" The reality is we have a small, dedicated, hardcore fanbase.. That doesn't make us cheap.. It means there aren't enough of us! That's what needs to change!!
1300 have donated in total and on these two boards we have a minimum of 4000 people. Is that what you call hardcore. I'm not talking out of my ***. I guess math is not your strongpoint because 1200 and the minimum 4000 on these boards don't add up.

To be fair, I read somewhere that 1500 of that 4k are just duplicated user names giving likes to themselves.

Instead of donating to the building fund why doesn't Rutgers play all it's home basketball games at Madison Square Garden???
Why just basketball? Check the record books, in the old days Rutgers football used to play teams like the Merchant Marine Academy in the old MSG. Don't ask me how they did it but they did.

My feeling is that we need to go harder after the sponsorship dollars tied to signage.

How can you justify going after the signage people when their signs are going to be seen one less time in the year because fans will be looking at the Yankee signs instead?

Your fans are a bunch of poor deadbeats because they're too busy tipping $5 on every Uber ride, the shoeshine boy, the coatcheck girl, every bum on the street, and tossing any loose change that they might have into the nearest tip jar.

Meanwhile, in Iowa, we pay what things cost, not a dime more, and have enough left over to hire real football and basketball coaches and take nice bowl trips during the holidays.

Some good points raised and the OP was a bit heavy handed. That said, the whining to donating ratio at Rutgers is pretty high. And I think people should get them in better alignment -- i.e if you whine a lot, donate a lot.

As of last week, about 75 people had a made a pledge of $25k over 5 years for this particular effort. $5k per year.

Given that many people on this board know so much about so many topics (including what others should do to be successful), I would assume that amount would be chump change for the majority of posters.

Of course, no one on here owes anyone an apology or an explanation for what they do with their money.

as u have found out in this thread.. Not everyone donates to the same thing...Just because people on here don't donate to the build fund doesn't make them cheap.. A donation, whether it be to the build, golf, or any academic fund, is still a donation.. And for you to come on here whining, and calling people on here "cheap losers" is frankly insulting!!

1300 have donated to this one fund.
Please provide stats for donations to all the other funds.

to the most important fund raiser in the history of Rutgers football? 5 10 15 bucks anything will help but the vast majority of the people who love this program have donated nothing and I cannot understand why this is. Can someone tell me why? Don't you want us to be on a somewhat level playing field with the rest of the BIG? Don't you want NJ's best to stay home instead of going out of state? For coach Ash to be able to sell our program he needs the facilities. Our basketball team plays in an outdated facility. Do you give a crap about that? It seems as a whole we don't care because the numbers of those who donated to the fund is very low. Some will give the excuse that we are half way there. I call BS since half of the money was given to us by a politician. So what's your excuse to why you have not donated to the most important fund raiser in our history?

If you really must know it's because I didn't go to Rutgers. I give to my Alma mater quite generously. The reasons I support Rutgers football are they are they state university of the state I grew up in and live and and they are the only D1 football program in the state. What I pay for my tickets and seat donations are more than enough plus the hour + drive for every home game.

Ru109 shoot in 20 anyway there r big donors who are motivated by participation. You sound like a big fan, even a token donation helps.

Big question for everyone I have is in addition to giving yourself, how hard r u working to convince others to give? How many have u convinced to give?

One thing that would get me to donate more easily is if they would allow my donations to count towards my PPs even though my season tix are under my friends account.
