Prof Ed, What are you saying? You are a Roselle Catholic graduate. Did you hear something? Is there a problem with academics or has something else thrown a monkey wrench into the situation? Don't keep us hanging if you know something.

Matt didn't think he was going to a D 1 school. Didn' feel the need to take the SAT. RU was the first to officially offer him.a ship. Now he has to. Take the SAT's. Interesting thing I heard, Cuse. Offered him... A football scholars. Let me say I have been watching Matt since he started as a frosh at RC. He is a warrior and a great person. Not sure if he's a D 1 guard.

Thanks for the info re: the SAT. I am sure the staff is fully on top of the situation and getting him qualified. Hard to believe he is not a D-1 player when he is a 3 star guard and first team all state.

Thanks Prof Ed. It has been a long time. I did send you an email before I saw your response. Maybe we can attend a Linden-RC game in the future.

My goodness, who the heck is giving these kids advice. Isn't there a guidance counselor or someone who's supposed to give him a heads up

I used to agree with you but then a "source" told me directly that Pikiell wants them both badly and thinks they will be game changers for future recruiting so I'm going with Pikiell.

I trust in Pikiell and he certainly knows better than I do. I just remember seeing a lot of ridiculous shots being chucked from everywhere. Definitely talented though...in a poor man's JR Smith kinda way.

He was an outstanding high school player. If he were a bit taller he would be a good college 3 or a 4. Not sure where you saw him as as a 3 star guard. What publication and why no interest in him until RU. He is a great kid and Pikiell made a smart move by getting involved with a top state basketball program.knights, next winter a Linden RC game . I am retiring in January 2017.

Sorry Proff Ed..one more time for the slow guy please. Are you saying that Bullock won't sign his NLI because _____? Or he won't be eligible? Or he will sign, be eligible, just not good?

Or none of the above, but something else completely?

Anyone else: please do help translate. Much appreciated

Think Proff Ed meant that Bullock didn't take the SAT needs to pass the SAT he's now planing to take before he can sign a LOI and be eligible for a scholarship from Rutgers.

Also ( I think) Proff implied he's not a 3 star prospect at the guard position , but was a good HS player and will be undersized if he plays the position at Rutgers his talent is best suited for.

Bot trying to put say Proff Ed said it like that, but that's how I took what he said about Bullock

Matt never took the SAT.. He was fairly sure that he was going to play at a JC.

RU offered . He then had to take SAT.. I was told that he signed up for two sessions. Don't know results, nor. Would I devulge that info. I'm assuming at this time that he is not eligible till results come in .1Think all are waiting for results in order to move forward. Hope this is clear?

I think what we are being told is he won't sign a LOI on the 18th. He will sign later if he gets the score.

oh ok sorry..I didn't know that was possible. There shouldn't be much worry then. The scores required to be eligible aren't very high for Division 1 sports

After LOI's there is what I believe a scholarship agreement. Unfortunately it is no binding by the player I believe so there is some worry - especially if Cuse is sniffing around. As far as the LOI, I do not know if Rutgers can/will accept without a SAT score in hand.

As far as the twins go, they can transfer up until classes start so we might not hear for a while.

Signing bullock was to show the program is getting tough going forward. No one expects him to come here and put up 8 pts a game, 8 rebounds.

More likely provide a good rebounder with grit, who can also shoot a 3 pt shot. It was also to build a connection with Roselle Catholic and Bullock was very well liked on the team. Think of him as first a basketball player, and then a recruiter.

Pikiell did in one day what Jordan did not want to seem to do in the years he was here-establish relationships with NJ schools and coaches. Bullock helps, and will be able to contribute in some manner.

Right..I agree. The kid can play though. Those numbers are not out of the realm of possibility at some point down the line. He'll be an impact player for RU IMO

There are only a few things Bullock needs to do......Hit some spot up three's after Sanders or Johnson penetrate AND play tough man to man defense against big guards where his strength will be an advantage to keep guys out of lane. From the reports, he can definitely do the former.

Results on the SAT I believe usually take about 5 weeks. We should know something soon. Even if Matt cannot sign a LOI he can sign the non binding papers at any time. I am not too worried about Cuse as he seemed thrilled when RU offered him. He loves basketball and Cuse offered him for football which he never played in high school. He seems to have wanted to play in New Jersey. Hopefully things will work out well. He also could have taken the ACT test which is also accepted by the NCAA.

Knight, I think you are a guy that saw Bullock play.....in your opinion, can he hit the spot up 3 ?

I'm not Knight but I've seen Matt play several times over the last 2 years and yes he can hit the spot up 3. He's an underrated athlete too..can play well above the rim. I think people will be surprised by his abilities. His demeanor on the court may come off negative at times..kind of like Junior Etou's was but other than that he can play on both ends of the floor and is more than just a connection to RC IMO

If he doesn't sign the LOI by 5/18, then nothing is official until he actually enrolls somewhere. Assuming that he gets a passing score in time for summer school and chooses to enroll, then it will be resolved fairly quickly. But otherwise, this could go right to September.

Yes, I saw Matt play about 6 or more times. He can hit a spot up 3. He is a very good player and one tough guy. He will not back down. He wants to win badly and it shows in his play. hopefully things work out.

If it were all that easy. Players still need to have court awareness, fill in spots, rotate, make the right pass, dribble with head up..

Of course they do. I'm not saying that a guy just stands at the 3 point line and just wait to get a shot. I'm suggesting that basketball is about having pieces and guys having roles to play to their strengths. If Bullock can fill a role as a spot up 3 point shooter and physical defensive presence....that would be great.
