I love everything about this coach and basketball team. If Rutgers tried to emulate them I would be so very happy.

He is a great coach. Also won at Washington State, who does not have great facilities.

I really like this team. Not the flashiest group or a lot of star power, but play great D and get the job done.

Oops...my bad I forgot (it's early..,)...still coach doesn't want excuses so neither should we, just WIN, right?

No doubt.
Loved everything he said in his press conference.

What a breath of fresh air.
It is like someone opened the door and let out all the stank.

The adults are in charge now.
Hobbs, Ash, and Pikiell.
B1G time is just around the corner.
GREAT time to be an RU fan.

Let's all enjoy the ride!

he was wretched today....his team allowed Cuse to finish on a 28-9 run and their offense was absolutely brutal during that stretch

Boeheim schooled Bennett on big time basketball by going to press and making UVA play out of whack. UVA is not an elite team so a elite 8 is still a good result for them. Syracuse is going to get destroyed by Carolina.

After seeing what the Syracuse's Defense did to Gonzaga at the end of their game,
I'll give Boeheim the credit and place less of the blame on Bennett for Syracuse's victory over the Cavaliers .
Syracuse's players are on a mission to prove themselves after the team's invitation to the Tourney was questioned and their HC knows how to stroke that fire inside them and have the whole team play far better than people thought them capable of.

Boeheim has been able to crank up a stifling defense in short bursts, as the announcers were saying..... And has done that for years..... I remember one time at the RAC, during the Douby years, we had about a 20 pt lead at the half....... Cuse came out in a press to start the second and had the game down to a nail biter in just a few minutes..... We lost the game as a Douby base line jumper rolled out as time expired.... Very painful loss.

The 2 Jersey kids were the difference. Talent on this level matters.
-----
We needed good ball handling and keeping a cool head that day, and it did not happen..... A good RU team would have broken the press and gotten a few easy baskets, forcing Syracuse to revert back to a normal D..... When the pressure worked, we had no answer..... Credit the Syracuse coach.....

Although I hate zone defenses at the hs level, boeheim plays the 2-3 perfectly at the college level and recruits for it with athletic long armed skilled players.

Few teams play it effectively and
It's tough to prepare for this with the limited time between tournament games. He has the press with these athletic Players in his back pocket when desperate like today.

His teams also rebound very well out of it which is difficult to do.

I don't like boeheim because he has always been a whiner but he sure is a great coach.

Once Jimmy B. retires, Syracuse basketball will become just as irrelevant as Syracuse football.

I don't follow their program closely, but if Syracuse somehow wins it all, it might be a good time to retire, going out on top.... If so, I think their program has enough reputation to get a high profile, win right away replacement...... Certainly after winning the title.

Don't know about that. I'm no Syracuse fan, but they have a lot of recent, relevant winning tradition in basketball. If they hire the right replacement, they'll be fine.

That's an important "if". One thing you can count on is any fan base to over estimate the desirability of their coaching job. Who wants to be the guy to follow Boeheim? You got no where to go but down. And you have to live in Onanadoga County.
