Boyle has gotten recruits for high school. No one knows how that translates to college. I would rather not take the chance.

Yup he'd make a GREAT "Recruiting Coordinator" so long as he has a compliance director assigned directly to him, and only him, while he's working for RU. Sorry but this guy has done NOTHING to earn a HC position at this level IMHO.

I find it pretty funny that everyone is so against Boyle but was for Hurley. There's not much difference between the two. Hurley made the jump and everyone thinks he's a god. Boyle can make the jump too. Essentially, Hurley is Boyle a few years removed, but Boyle recruits better.

There is definitely a difference in perception...usually in favor of the Hurleys. I'm not saying it's justified but it exists.

Could Boyle do the job with Williams and Phil Colicchio as his defensive coach and a much more experienced coach to help him (like Seth Greenberg or someone else) ?

Boyle would be a tremendous hire. This guy was a relentless player and is a relentless coach. The reason why he is a "HS" coach (Which let's face it, he really is much more than that) is because none of the smaller level schools that would be logical options, can afford him. If I were him, I sure as hell wouldn't take a compensation cut to go low level D1. Boyle will bring a level of talent here that we have very rarely seen. Fantastic hire, if it falls in place. And good for him with the intensity. If he can keep from throwing objects and homophobic slurs, he can yell all he wants.

I've been told that one of the things Boyle benefits from at MVA is having his wife working in the admissions office. According to the person who told me this, that enables him to get pretty much whoever they want admitted.

I personally love coach Boyle. My concern would be that many of the advantages that he currently enjoys at MVA he won't have in the NCAA.

His recruiting and amount of practice time would be much more regulated. The admission thing particularly with regards to international kids.

His son is a walk-on at UCF & the worst kept secret is that he covets the UCF job

Haven't heard any updates. Last I heard was that it wasn't Hurley, which I was right about. Keep in mind that I was also the first one to bring up Boyle several weeks ago and was laughed at. Also was the first to bring up Williams too, but I admitted that I heard he was interested in joining the staff, not being the HC.

At this point, I honestly probably won't hear much since my "source" is probably no longer getting info.

Because everything changes completely at the college level? There are four buckets to shoot at instead of 2? To me, you're either a good coach who can recruit, or you're not.

do the x's and o's change from major high-level high school basketball to college to even the pros? NOPE. It's 5 v 5 with tremendous athletes. At the high school's he's coached at his tops teams are basically like coaching college players
