What record would constitute a successful 2016-17 campaign?

This is regardless of who the next coach is. The program has pretty much hit rock bottom, what would be a good sign of progress?

16-15 with a win in the big ten tourney to be 17-16 with the entire team returning for 17-18

That is REALLY asking a lot. I'd put the over/under - with currently expected roster - at 13.5/5,5 (total wins/conference wins) for next season. Had it at 10.5/3.5 with EJ.

Nuts

Here is the thing....

I wrote this fall and People forget This team was painfully young this year. If you actually looked that the total amount of minutes the guys on this had playing divisions one hoops coming into this year....it was going to be hard even before the injures

I kinda subscribe to the theory that we were a 11-20 team that was 7-24 with all the injuries

If you buy that....with what we have returning with experience...if it stays intact...good coaching turns that 11-20 and flirts with .500 next year of the year

Need to keep players on roster intact and get the new coach in here and get to work

The supposed Off season trip helps some here

Success to me is not being embarrassed every week.

I don't care if we win 8 games..as long as we are competitive each time we hit the floor, that's a positive.

How can anyone project without knowing the direction new coach takes?

New coach may want to purge people that don't play or act a certain way.

Depends on who we hire. If Sendek, he will be expected to have 18 wins. If Hurley, the Hurley men will tell us that we shouldn't expect to break into double digits for five years.

18 wins?? I'd love to have what ur smoking.

Hobbs is not going to hire somebody and expect them to win 18 games next year.

Let's be realistic. Like football, this is a longterm build.

cant measure in wins and losses...its changing of culture and do players continue to accept losing and expect to lose. Better fundamentals, a hot start to recruiting and a shovel date. I dont think anyone is going to have win loss expectations for next year, its not about that. I think everyone understand its going to be another struggle next year most likely

It was a joke, mike. Although I couldn't disagree more with his love of Hurley, bac has the expectations for next year, whoever the hire, correct in the post above.
