When will the deed be done?

We know what has to be done. The AD is on the clock. He's gone whether the five EJ supporters like it or not.

So what's the timeframe?

I assume EJ will be told he is gone tomorrow with a Friday public announcement.

I am not so sure that ettiquette is to do it during the Big 10 tournament...dont know how its been done before by other Big 10 schools...thats the only reason I am saying it might be delayed

Hobbs will have a meeting with Jordan maybe late tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning so anytime after that

but yes I think the NJ press and some SHU fans will know first

Saturday morning isn't bad. Won't upstage the semis and avoid conversation over the weekend on the radio....

I agree with Bac. Hobbs will probably wait until Big 10 tourney is over do as not to be a distraction.
If the decision has been made, it's not fair to Eddie to string it along and let him twist. And if he is let go, not sure how you can possibly put a lid on it and not allow word to leak out. I doubt Rutgers firing a coach is going to rock the basketball world and overshadow the Big Ten Tournament. Get it over with and move on.

Not one Rutgers source I know thinks Eddie Jordan will be back. Brutal season.

I think it is a matter of courtesy to the league.

My guess is that Eddie will resign to avoid the embarrassment of being fired. Monday would be a good day to hold the press conference. This thing should be all worked out by now.

If he resigns, he gives up his salary. My guess, given that Hobbs has already demonstrated that he can operate under the radar, is that EJ will be informed privately before any official announcement. By the time the announcement is made, interviews will already have been set-up or, in some cases, already conducted.

In any event, the news will break in the media. There's no way to escape it with social media.

I asked Carino and he doubted there was any kind of etiquette against doing it during the tournament

also Carino, Pelzman, Sullivan all indicated that every RU source they have does not believe Eddie will be back

Lets make sure his replacement is up to the job and its not being low balled.
No mid-majors HC 's from local schools or x-HC's without a current job

Herb Sendek is an ex coach who took 3 different schools to the NCAA tourney and has been to the Sweet 16 and has his own coaching tree...RU would be fortunate to land him

If we had lost by 20, I'd say it's time to turn the page. But 17 is pretty close, so I'd go for another year.

Jordan can resign and hired to a ( no show) job in the Athletic Department that pays him part or all of what was owed bowing out gracefully that way but still getting some of what would have been owed him if he was terminated.
Remember Gary Waters resigned, but was paid to leave.

I would have no problem with EJ being bumped upstairs in a no-show or alumni relations capacity.

the next coach will get the praise because he is making the players better and winning games, its not just about getting the injured players back.

Would like to see the timing on this as Thursday or Friday morning. The players will start leaving for spring break on Friday afternoon. If there is a change I think it's best if Eddie / Pat address the kids before they head out.

I think Hobbs will do it right. Eddie will resign and will be paid as if he was fired. This is a critical hire for Hobbs. I'm hoping to see Ammaker and would be very happy.

Twitter speculation is that Amaker would only leave Harvard for Duke. He has a no-pressure situation up there.

Yep, you are not going to have to worry about "etiquette"

There's one reason why I don't think anyone would mind if we announced a change during the Big Ten Tournament. No one outside this board will even care. That's where our program is right now.
