I have not been a CVS fan for a number of years now. She was a master at defense. A recruiting giant. Offensively not much to talk about. Over the last few years, the defense has slowly went down. The offense is still a big negative. And the most important thing that has allowed CVS to stay relevant, her recruiting, has taken a nose dive.
Right now we have 4 McDonald's All Americans on our roster. A bit lower than the average amount that normally is part of a Rutgers Women's B-Ball team. To put this in perspective...Our current 4 McDonald's All-Americans is more than at least 50% of the current Big Ten teams total McD All-American combined for the history of their programs.
What I am trying to say is that CVS's below average coaching skills, have resulted in above .500 record and mediocre post season records in spite of having amazing talent.
The storm looms. CVS's only remaining strength (recruiting), as I said, has taken a nose dive. Next years class not only lacks any McDonald AA's, but lack any top 100 players.
Next year will have only one remaining McD AA...Tyler S. We will be grateful to finish ,500. It will be an abysmal season.
But wait until the next year.
I figure CVS will see the writing on the wall and will retire before the sh...t hits the fan. And when the next coach comes in w a crappy hand to deal with, the pundits will call for the return of the legendry coach Stringer
.
I know I will get a lot of crap for this post. I just ask you to remember it 2 years from now.
