This is a 100% absolutely true story verified by some guy on a message board. This was in no way made up just to prove a point.

Why would I make something like that up?

Although you did summarize perfectly how most of the conclusions that the majority on here that constantly yell about penn state come about. They read this crap and just add to it bc who cares? It's anonymous.

People don't go around in public and when they see my degree from PSU in my office say 'You're a Cult!' That doesn't happen in real life. This is ur own little fantasy world bc none of you would (hopefully not) be dumb enough to post this hate crap online under your real name. to some on here this board is a safe haven where you can anonymously hate on a team that at the end of the day u are just mad that u can't beat them in football.

U say that penn state doesn't care about children's welfare and yet this past weekend they raised nearly $10 million dollars for pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Ur agenda is simple, in ur head penn state can do no right, everything they do is terrible. U are pathetic

Do you really believe all this; that ALL penn state fans care more about football than child rape? Do you know how silly that sounds?

I'm not defending anyone, but to paint an entire fan base with that broad brush is extremely careless.

Says the Pedd State fan. LOL.

To be spent on services Pedd State provides. So it's basically revenue generation.

Nobody says "You're a cult " out loud, but it's probably in the thoughts of a majority of non-psu people. Whenever I've spoken about psu in the past, I've gotten very visceral reactions from people. Most people think there are enough nutjobbers at psu, that it's probably hurting your degree outside the state of PA.

People definitely believe psu has a Football Uber Alles mentality! I tend to agree with them there. JoePa was revered as a God amongst many. I had one friend that lived her life by his preachings and had a huge cardboard cut-out of him in her office. It's creepy. Then Sandusky rapes kids and they keep him around. There's bound to be a bunch of screwed up people.

Lotta good students, but they're tainted by not calling out the faculty or the program. Instead, they protested about JoePa's treatment. The values are all screwed up. People are going to associate psu with the cult forever. The sooner you stop getting worked up about it, the easier your life will become on the message boards.

I don't think a single person believes that PSU or PSU fans endorse these sort of crimes but...the problem is that the previous regime did all they could to keep the "myth" of happy valley alive over the welfare of the abused. What gets most non PSU people worked up is the "cult like" mentality of many that would still just rather hide it and keep JoePa up on this pedestal.

I've never denied I grew up watching PSU football...what amazes me is a fan base (at least on the message boards) that has no interest in building a bigger fan base and allowing anyone who didn't grow up with Scarlet tinted glasses to follow the RU football team, yet wants more people to come to football games and support the program...I'm just glad the folks and friends I sit with at football and basketball games are NOTHING like many of the "fans" on this board...by the way, there were 2 times as many PSU fans at the basketball game on Saturday afternoon than students (I took a clear picture with my phone)...at a minimum, RU needs all the support it can get from outsiders like me spending my money on local entertainment.

Agree. I just tried to let it go but he wouldn't let me. Nonetheless, I agree with you.
Wouldn't let it go because you said PSU fans "support Sandusky's crimes"...all I'm looking for is for you to admit that was a poor choice of words...but this will be the last you hear of it from me...moving on

We need to stop referring to them as TTFP for (at least) two reasons:
1) it was a creation of the hapless Elmer Fludd and he is gone, and
2) if we're putting a premium on "on-the-field" performance, TTFP is now Temple, PSU is at best TOTFP (with "O"=Other), unless of course they lose to Pitt, it which case they become TO^2TFP.

Pedd State works for me.

Ok? So if Rutgers had a fundraiser to support their hospital u would applaud them...

They wouldn't get credit from me for helping cancer kids if they were actually just helping their hospital.
I see it's hard for you to understand truth based on fact and all of those kinds of things but there it is.
You're only helping cancer kids if they can use the resources without strings attached, If you help cancer kids with only their bills for expenses at Pedd State institutions then you're really just doing a form of bill collecting for Pedd State.

Sir please do yourself a favor and go outside, you need a break from the message boards. if u really believe that the majority of non PSU people which in america would be about 99.7% of the population think "Cult" about PSU u really need to go outside and see what the world is really like. The truth is yes most people may think about Sandusky as one of the first things when they hear "Penn State" but most are mature enough to realize that the actions of few do not reflect the entire school.

That's like saying all Rutgers fans hate gay people bc of the whole Tyler clementi situation... that would be stupid to say... just like it's stupid to say that everyone at Penn State is a cult...

The truth is u all feel PSU is an easy target bc of the sandusky thing and you all desperately want to sh*t on other programs bc well it's what people from Jersey do... but it's tough when u literally have the worst athletic program of any school in the P5

Must have been a sight to see you decked out in your Scarlet Knights gear for the RU-psu football game this year, cheering and supporting dear ol' Rutgers.

Like I said, I'm a jersey boy and I like to support my state school, and I have an interest in talking about RU sports as I follow them closely...BUT, as someone who grew up a PSU football fan and have a lot of family connections to the school, I do not sit by and listen to posters with an agenda on this board paint the entire PSU fan base as child molestation supporters. In all honesty I probably spend more money on RU athletics than a number of posters here in the past couple of years since they joined the B1G. I know there are a lot of high dollar supporters here but I can't help but think some of the folks on this board don't attend any games or contribute anything to the university or sports programs.

I had a PSU hat and an RU Hoodie at the game two years ago in Piscataway and I donned PSU blue for the game at Beaver stadium this year as it was the color code for the section of the stripe out

Following instructions better than the RU student section at football games with the very confusing RU chant that they can't seem to get correct...btw, I think we are on to something from the basketball game, when there were only 50 or so students, the RU chant was said perfectly...it didn't sound like R-UR-UR-U...

The only ones who are in any way comparing what St.JoePa did....I'm sorry...DIDN'T do.....to what happened to that unfortunate kid from RU that took his own life...are a few dumass cultists that visit here from time to time.
And are still making light of what happened out there.
You know what Sandusky did. And so did Joe.

Nah, they don't think 99.7% of them are, they might think a small percentage are nutjobbers and definitely a cult atmosphere surrounds the football program. As you mentioned, the scandal comes to mind and it's not good.

I like Pitt. I think WVU and their fans are awesome even though they spanked us for many years. I root for other Big Ten teams. I don't think I'm looking to **** on anyone - except maybe Syracuse but that shouldn't count anymore since they're spiraling down. The moment RU even comes close to protecting a pedophile, myself and most of the fans will drop our support and I would imagine the state would call for the program to fold, not protect the program.

Keep talking about how much better your program is. psu is so well known for other offerings, I'm sure the pedophile thing will go away soon and stop threatening your beautiful program.
