Rachel Banham(sp) is killing us and Coach Eatman failed to use our best defender, Shrita Parker. That is baffling to me.

If my count is right, Rachel just broke Sue Wicks record for career blocks. I have her for 4 now.

this is a huge game...concerning that RU has given up 43 points...must keep them under 75 to win this one, preferably under 70

Where is the defense? We are being out hustled and out rebounded all night. Don't see the passion, I do see heads hanging. Nothing to speak of on offense. Butts is a liability out there, put Victoria in.

I seems that we are never in sync in most games this year.

I am turning the game off, not because I am disgusted with our performance as I know we have the ability to come back in this one, but because my BTN Plus feed keeps freezing and it's driving me nuts.

oh well....margin of error is razor thin right now. Maryland is an automatic loss so that means RU must go 5-1 in the other games to position themselves at 18-12/9-9 and since this team hasn't won on the road this year, I think its going to be difficult to beat an improved Purdue and this upcoming Penn State game is a tossup

Disappointed but the season is not over. As long as our ladies don't play like it is, we have a slugger's chance.

Well, Kahleah and Rachel are seniors, so they are a non-issue. Regarding Tyler or whoever else you have in mind, WNBA doesn't allow underclassmen to do that (unless they're foreigners, for which there are different rules - strange but true.)

i can't remember being more disappointed in WBB than i have this season...theirs such a lack of buzz around this team.Mediocre is the word here..

I would say underachieving , mediocre is just to harsh.
But can understand you feeling that way because of all RU's major sports programs, WBB has been the one to set the standards for the longest time.( since the 1978-79 season under Theresa Grentz > 434-150 (.743) as the RU WBB HC< and continued by C. Vivian Stringer >445- 226 (.663) , including the Minnesota game that she didn't coach but is put on her record).

So mediocre might be a little harsh, but with our expectations where RU WBB is concerned seasons like this feel that way and any season without an NCAA bid is totally unacceptable for RU WBB fans.

Women's BB has been the standard bearer for quality and consistency for the last thirty years first under Theresa Grentz and now under C. Vivian Stringer. Unfortunately, we are seeing an underachieving team this season and I believe a lot of that has to do with losing our leader from last year, Betnijah Laney. She was not only a leader on the floor but in the locker room. We don't seem to have that person this year and that's what's created IMO this vacuum of consistency and leadership. I thought with nucleus of Scaife, Hollivay, Canty and Copper we would be just as good if not better from last season. To say this season is a disappointment is an understatement. But the women's program has always been the shining light in the majority of athletic programs men or women at Rutgers. Let's hope they can regain their mojo for the rest of the season and make the tourney, although right now, that could be very tough.

My feelings exactly....in past yrs we at least could count on WBB to hold up our heads...i'm sorta dumbfounded as i expected some improvement on last yr instead of disappointment.

the fact that the freshmen and sophomore classes have generally not made a difference is huge. Parker here and there but that's it. Its going to get ugly next year...who is replacing Copper

This team is underachieving based on talent. I question how much is due to having an all new supporting cast of assistant coaches. Quite a few posters over the last few years have wanted new blood (non CVS coached players) to fill the assistant coaching positions, feeling it might give us a more offensive minded team. I admit, that thought had crossed my mind as well, though I did not want a forced wholesale departure of her assistants at the same time. Although a nucleus of these players have played together for several years, they are all adjusting to the new assistants. As a counter point, look at the teams our former assistants went to. Georgia (Chelsea) who are overachieving under a new coaching staff, Miami, (Tia) who are playing well this year and should get an NCAA bid and St John's (Tasha) who beat us and are 3rd in the Big East with a 16-6 record. Sometimes I wonder if we would be winning more games this year if we hadn't changed the coaches.

All really good points. Believe me, this has crossed my mind too. I think we both can admit, something is off this year and it's not just talent. The chemistry between players and coaches seem skewed. Can we turn it around before the season's tourneys begin? Yes. But it won't be easy especially if we want to make the NCAA"s. I feel right now with the way we're playing we may be NIT bound.

NIT-bound but I doubt we'd agree to it. The only time Stringer consented was when she had a team of underclassmen. This year, she has a senior-laden team who, by the way, looks completely exhausted. Add in Stringer's personal extra responsibilities with her mom's passing and I highly doubt it.
