I think they will still go for a point guar
@Russ Wood - Have you heard anything about Issa Thiam ? Supposedly, he is a shooter and defender with length and long arms.

dont mention anything about goode, lol. You know the next thread will,"I heard goode is leaving"

Unless you are positive of it, speculation just makes the board go crazy. I wouldn't even mention it if you werent positive.

Good new, don't want the bad news negatives messing up a thread like this , trying to find something wrong so they can blame Jordan for whatever they can think of to put him down concerning this commit.
From where I stand, Issa is a good get :cool2:

Great get for Eddy! Height and length desperately needed on the squad - should help. Hopefully beefs up a little bit and can still remain athletic in a thicker frame

Hope he is good. Has Bac written a comment here, very interesting.

This is a solid recruit for us. Yes, he needs to gain strength. In terms of potential he has some very nice upside. The key is for RU not to lose any of the current members of the team to transfer. If we keep the current roster together and add the three injured players Thiam will not have to be rushed along. That is how a program that is not gaining top 50 players can grow and develop. In short, a good commitment for us.

I wouldn't mind adding F Chuba Ohams with the 4th scholarship.
As much as we need a big, yes please on Ohams. Thiam, Ohams, and Dailey are good gets. Don't know enough about Tripp. Thing is, all four would play a similar role. May the best shooters play. If we end up with a 5th ship, must use on a big.

That and we still have Laurent, Foreman, and Williams who all play the 3 in different situations. I would like to see a pure PG or a 4/5.

I know I know. But since the horn blowers are saying he can shoot, handle the ball, play d, and play with good motor at 6' 9". They make Issa sound like Herve. I'd like to see something about him, video or anecdotal. There's hardly been anything on him. All I'm saying is I wanna see more. He's a mystery to me.

Interesting thing with recruiting cycles....Rutgers will not have an opening in 2017. That is the result of Freeman getting a redshirt.

Have you heard any rumblings about transfers? Naturally, when you lose 23 consecutive conference games it becomes a possibility. I guess it depends on who decides to move out.

Or he can just play at Kevin Durant's college weight and be just fine....Seriously, I get your point Higgins. He needs some weight and I'm sure that the "unlimited" amount of food available at the Dining Halls will do just that...lol
He'd be even better if he had Durant's jump shot.

We made fun of Seton Hall because of the Canary Islands.

6'8'' and skinny and a good defender. What type of player does he guard?

I hope this works out, but with Eddie's track record I hope this isn't another throw the spaghetti on the wall and see if it sticks.

He'll guard skinny guys, if there are any skinny guys left in the B1G. It's more likely that he'll wind up guarding muscular 6'8" power forwards who'll lower the bulldozer blade on him in the low post.

Why would any level-headed person think any differently? Good post.

This makes sense....everyone knows the college game is about big muscular power forwards scoring tons of points in the low post.

When was the last time you watched a game Lotus? This is not the 1980's and 1990's Big East. Plus, he is NOT a PF. He is a tall long wing player.

Not your best post here FIG......He'll guard players at his position....SF, same as Laurent. The same thing skinny Dane Miller did. Do you expect him to guard centers or PF's?

I share the same thoughts. We need to build a team. We can't build if integral parts of the foundation are taken away.

Nice get. I'll take a shooter with length all day long. We still need a rugged 4 that can give 7-9 rebounds per game. Let's get it done EJ.

with his height he will not be asked to strictly be a sf. With 7 other players who play that position, the roster math won't allow it especially if he's going to see time on the floor next year. He's going to be told to guard PFs most of the time, occasionally C's when we are in foul trouble. I can see him being molded into being like Kadeem. I just can't see us getting another big unless one of our wings is not here next season.

Thiam is WF. His limitation right now is his frame. Diallo, Doorson, Foreman, Freeman and Laurent can man the 4/5. Thiam can have a chance to make an impact right away at 3 because we don't have a lot of players at that position.

A signing with potential but somewhat of a mystery....Going to have to bulk him up big time to compete in the Big 10. A guy who is height and length is a big need for us now we need some more width.

Black #139..he doesn't start. I watched his 1st stint. Can't tell much by looking at 5 minutes of game film. There is nothing in that 5 minutes that will excite anyone. In the 5 minutes no signs of athleticism. Just 5 minutes though.

That was 2 years ago. His play during Canarias' recent trip to the US would get you excited.
