I am sick of ESPN promoting every game that Ben Simmons like he is the next coming of LeBron James. I got sucked in a few weeks ago and came away scratching my head. They have brainwashed my 2 kids and they put LSU on whenever they play.

I totally agree. The kid is good but he is not the best there is. I saw him play in NJ last year at Kean. He looked good but I have seen better. I also am tired of the hype by ESPN.

Totally agree and not really sure why they are pumping him up so much. They will show every stat line he has even if its like 14 points 8 rebounds. They don't do that for unranked teams. He is a good player and all that but not worth this sort of hype.

Agree----big upside and a good all around player but he isn't one of the best 15 players in the country IMO at this point in time.

Totally agree. ESPN has a stake in and thus must promote the SEC and its network. With UK having an off year, there's not much to hype in the SEC for hoops, so its Simmons.

I cannot get enough Ben Simmons updates. Kid will most likely be the number one pick in the draft...which sucks for him because he'll be drafted by Philadelphia.

any hype gets old really fast especially when ESPN is covering it but Ben Simmons is the real deal. I too was at that game last year at Kean that knights1212 mentioned. I'll admit I was a bit underwhelmed as well but that was mostly because the kid was in foul trouble most of the game so he was never able to get in rhythm but you could just see that his upside was tremendous being 6'10 and being able to handle the ball like a guard

I don't see how he isn't a top 15 player in college hoops though..he's dominating at the college level without shooting more than 12 shots a game..that's impressive. The game comes so natural to him. Kid averages just under 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assist a game to go along with a 2 steals and a block..that's insane no matter how you put it

Buddy Hield, Kris Dunn, and Brice Johnson may be better than him at the college level but that's about it. Maybe I'm missing 1 or 2 more? And even they are arguable

He's a very unique player..not the physical beast LeBron is but similar skill set. Reminds me more of a young Lamar Odom but better at everything besides shooting right now

Well how good was Lamar Odom ? With the first pick in the draft if you tell me I'm getting Lamar Odom that's not real great news.

I don't see him as a better player at the moment than Valentine , Uthoff , Trimble , Niang , Hart, Payton , Stone , Ellerson to name just a few that come to mind but like I said big upside.

Add in that he plays in an average league and that's why I stated it.

He could end up a 76er no doubt about it.

I love all of the guys you mentioned except for Hart, I like him a lot. Having said that, I'd still draft Simmons before all of those guys. But that's just one man's opinion. If Simmons wasn't so unselfish, he would put up staggering numbers.

His skill level, basketball IQ, and versatility are all impressive. I'm just happy I get to watch him play.

I wish that we could learn a player even close to him

I agree----if I'm the 76ers I would take him too.

You take him for 2-3 years down the road.

The NBA is a mans league-----he's not a man quite yet.

Point isn't his ability. A break in from Wisconsin-Indiana game with a minute left to tell listeners Simmons got a quick 6 pointd

Sorry, I didn't think I had to clarify what I meant by him reminding me of Lamar Odom but I'm more talking about his playing style than anything. I think he'll have a way better NBA career than Lamar Odom but his style of play reminds me more of Odom than LeBron who's just a physical monster..Simmons is more a finesse player

They are a little early on this, but he's an SEC kid that projects to the next level as a Blake Griffin type of player.....anything mentioned beyond that is a little out of whack, he's good, but not a dominate player right now.

FWIW, my favorite college player to watch this year is Buddy Hield of OU. The kid is a scoring machine, is super clutch and plays with great effort.

Where he'll be surrounded by other lottery picks whose souls have been sucked out by losing on purpose.
