Both additions are MORE than welcome. I'm not passing judgement, just asking :
Are both under the radar....?

The question also has to be asked about Doorson, Diallo / Freeman:how serious were there injuries and CAN each come back and play / contribute?

It seems to me that we need the next (last?) recruit to be a 4 Star with BUZZ a la Corey Sanders ...

Any ideas or candidates?

Thanks

BIG MEN BIG MEN BIG MEN

We were way short this year and we lose Lewis at the end of the year. Heck even a tall walkon would be nice. Our tallest walkon right now is 5'11".

To win next year? Big (Doorson/Diallo) to play well. Sniper.
To round out the class? Big. Sniper.
I hope Levitch is the sniper, Thiam probably is added to the class, but he's not a big.

Ohams is supposedly a 6'7" SF. Thiam is a 6'8" or 6'9" forward who is supposed to be a shooter. Hopefully Doorson and Diallo are 100% healthy next year. I definitely want to see us with 13 scholarship players next year. Maybe we are hoping to run more next year and at times playing a forward like Foreman or Laurent in the middle. I have seen both of those guys driving the basket against bigger guys with some success. I think more and more it looks like Eddie will be back. Maybe Eddie and Hobbs have already spoken. Apparently Freeman will be red shirted and maybe the staff was told they better play harder. It seemed they did that vs. Iowa. I still hope we can steal a few games before the season ends. I hope we can defeat Illinois at home and maybe feel good for at least a few days.

Marginal B1G talent, impact as upper classmen, but what can we expect given our situation?

The kid from New York was shot last year and missed a month of season. Could be a good player and has size. People think Dailey is a good player from Ohio, other stuff I have read.

How is this B1G "talent"? Please help me out here, thank you, because all I see are 2 unrated and un-ranked kids. Not good when you're mixing them in with this current roster. Sorry, but Eddie MUST do better than this, bottom line.

it almost seems as if this board just ignores the offer list and automatically assumes the kid is some sleeper and exactly what we need...scratching my head. On paper this isn't a Big 10 talent so Im agree with you and some others here. I see people already using these two kids as evidence that Eddie is doing a great job recruiting...really? We need difference makers not role players who will take time. To me its further evidence that he is not going to make able to ever make the talent gap up

Both commits are 0-star and not ranked at position or in class. Somebody needs to help me out as to WHY we should be even the least bit excited? Thanks.

shh just like with Flood, stars aren't supposed to matter

I'm pretty pleased with Eddie's recruiting. People keep on forgetting that players like Goode are only freshman. He'll be solid come junior year.

Sorry but we need back-to-back-to-back Top 50 classes. This class won't finish in the Top 250 at the current rate.

If Goode is solid as a junior, he'll be wearing a Radford or UNC-Asheville shirt. He's a really bad example to use. Try Diallo or Doorson ... maybe.

You guys are expecting B1G talent to come here when we have piss poor facilities and institutional support? Because I don't expect that. I expect us to attract the level of talent that our infrastructure suggest we attract, which is what we get sometimes. Other times we pick up a top 150 kid like Foreman, a 4 star in the spring like Doorson, or a talent with red flags like Corey.

I don't see the major recruiting issues that everyone else complains about. I think EJ has done fine recruiting considering the dog dung he is working to sell.

shhh the bar has been lowered, so next year or the year after when we are in the same boat we will be having the same conversations again about why we cant compete with the rest of the Big 10

So this class, coming off a sub-10 win season, will be okay? No.

shh again don't pay attention to reality, its all about the dream best case scenario working out...and we have seen at Rutgers in ANY sport that has not worked out EVER

You guys are hopeless. I get it. Then why obsessively post in every thread?

There are other things in llife to get worked up over.

At this point you wouldn't like anything and I get that.

But some of you continue to buy tickets and I don't care about the reason. You're actually encouraging the product you despise so much.

Way to stick it to the man.

I don't trust any posters opinions on a recruit. No one knows anything and you all say you knew jr all along. The genius syndrome because that's how you make yourself feel better for being a Rutgers fan.

The only near guarantees are 4 and 5 stars because they jump out at you. But please spare me the armchair analysis because you guys know nothing.

The problem with this fan base is we have active posters that ***** but they're George Costanza's when it comes time to act like a big boy booster. More concerned with food at halftime because they're irrelevant as far as making ANY impact and belong at the kiddie table with the small time do-nothing fans.

We desperately need a decent big man. If that is the case then the class will be satisfactory.

To be honest I am sick of finding that perfect recruit. Did you know that Jordan has already brought in 4 top 150 players (Etou, Foreman (edit not Diallo), Sanders, Freeman) ? And did you know how many Rice brought in? And FHJ? Where did that lead us. Dailey has the athletic ability of Laurent, the shooting ability of Williams, and the point guard vision of Sanders. Its rare that we have more than one of those qualities in any of our players. Any you know this as well as anyone Nuts, not rated is not the same as 2 star. He was injured last season and noone had any good tape.

Sorry I am on the other site and guy who covers that area says he is a good player and Wisconsin was looking at him for next year. thought he might go prep. I will take his word over you guys who have not seen him play. And we get some of you don't like Jordan.

Can't claim they are B1G talent, but won't say they won't prove to be pretty good B1G players .
Hopefully both will be part of making RU MBB a program to brag about instead of nitpicking its every move because the MBB program is so bad and has been for a long time.
Win and the scrutiny is loosened, lose and every move is questioned.
Losing Programs don't deserve the benefit of doubt, like a winning program has earned.

We are either going to win with crazy talent, which this isn't it. If not, a real system that the players believe in and execute. In short, great coaching. Well...

Skoolie - Let's stop blaming "facilities," et al, plenty of schools win, beat us, and go to the NCAA's, with lousy ones. Yes, we need new ones - NO QUESTION - but it's only part of the equation.

Purdue, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigsn, Xavier and Dayton were all interested in Dailey...most of those schools wanted him to prep and become 2017

As for Tripp, he was regarded as one of the top players in NYC prior to being shot and then later breaking his leg. Tripp petitioned for an extra year in high school ball for this year and was denied. Had interest from St. John's and minnesota

The same fans criticizing this move would criticize the staff if they lost out on Dailey.

So just say you want a new staff and move on.

If you want four-stars may I suggest investing in becoming a bag man? Or is it above your pay grade? Haha

I would imagine getting shot and breaking a leg might lower the interest in a basketball recruit. I am not into how many stars but believe who else was offering is the best indicator for those of us who don't spend time watching kids play. Particularly at this time of year when talking about 2016 recruits. Having interest versus offering is two entirely different situations.

Breaking his leg and getting shot happened over the course of the last two years and he didn't play this year so the sample size of his games are small over the last two years but the kid was filling it before then and over the games he did play in the last two years

Rutgers fans have Kentucky basketball taste and LIU Broolyn pockets.

You want a better program them it Rutgers has to act like it. Rutgers doesn't get your favorite recruit because compared to the same recruiting pool it is not as attractive.

Some fans donate while others b*tch on Rivals. Like the fire flood Gofundme that raised about as much as a used Toyota camry!! These are our most vocal and negative fans, as I would stop short of calling them boosters.

When a change is made and Rutgers turns into a respectable program it won't be because anything the loudest fans on Rivals did.

If you think Dailey is not a good get, then you don't know what you are talking about.

Tripp is a gamble, but a gamble with tremendous upside if it pays off.
