After initially not being wowed when Ash's name surfaced I am all in after seeing his presser. Pedigree is huge and he knows exactly what it takes to win. My favorite thing we said touched on unity and ending the divide. Finally ending the Schiano tree..Julie is gone...good time to unify and end all the factions and fiefdoms in the athletic department. ..truly a new beginning

I thought I saw a ru66 and AreYouNUTS fist bump in another thread. Can't we all just get along now, until Ash names the starting QB, and we are in trouble if it is Laviano.

Wow. Funny coming from a guy who has got people banned because they didn't share your views on Flood and the state of the program.

I'll let everybody know if I'm in or not in 3-1/2 years. In the meantime, I'm encouraged by what I see so far.

So the hopes a group hug with bac, NUTS and ru66 are off the table?
I really don't care who the starting QB is. I just want the one in there who gives us the chance to be . . . ummm. . . . oh crap, we don't say that anymore. Fight or flight, baby!

What did you think of Hobbs today?

What? You have no idea what you are talking about. But thanks for jumping out of the bush with 5 posts to blindside me.

I have ton more posts over the years but you got me banned a year and 1/2 ago. The count is from the new site.
Nobody gets banned for simply stating their opinion. Lots of people have disagreed with lots of other people about all kinds of things and don't get banned.

So why did you really get banned?

Why do I get the feeling that as soon as something goes wrong, he'll be crucified? Rutgers does have that "Eat their young" feeling.
Read the threads about him staying for the Fiesta bowl, the crucifixion already has been started.

How would you know this? A year an a half ago I was recovering from a major surgery and not real active here. You got more, or do you just want to hurl accusations without any backup?

Hobbs..Ill support. Saying the right things but all of our other ADs said the right thing. His biggest test wont be football, because that program will run itself, his biggest test is what he will do with Eddie Jordan was has been a colossal failure and is the wrong guy for such a giant rebuild. How can he sell facilties to donors with Jordan as coach. Does he give Jordan one more year or does he intervene at the end of this year. Eating two years off $2 million wouldn't be palpable but the programs fanbase is reaching new lows

Depends on if money is an issue.
Seems like it might be and unless something outside of basketball becomes an issue,
Eddie ( deserving or not) will get one more season .
I won't blame Hobbs if he can't change the MBB HC before next season is over.
We can hope money wouldn't be a factor, but Hobbs must work inside his budget.

The mods from last year can chime in.
Umm, OK, if that's what you think. There have been plenty of disagreements here with other posters, and never reported anyone for something they said about Flood.
So you hold internet grudges against people you know nothing about on the basis of what someone else told you? That's a good way to roll.
Have a nice life.

That is a tough issue. Didn't he do something similar with the men's and women's coaches at Seton Hall? I know Hobbs as he was one of my profs at Seton Hall Law. I am confident he will handle it well.

he got rid of Gonzo who had off the field issues and needed to go...however he hired Willard who is in his 6th year with no NCAA bid and is possibly responsible for giving him a cushy contract that has prevented Willard from being canned.

also he will have to deal with CVS in a couple of years

OK, Dick Tracey. I am putting you on ignore, so I don't have to deal with your foolishness. I can understand why you were banned. You seem to have issues. Go seek help. Good luck.

Interesting that it appears that most of that outrage and hysteria directed at the new coach for his decision to coach at OSU thru the bowl evaporated pretty quickly or have those folks gone back into hiding for now, waiting to launch at the next perceived misstep.

Good. If you put me on ignore you can't go crying to the mods.
I jumped back in here to cheer on the new coach but the KF supporters don't want to support the new coach because that is an admission that they are wrong

Since you brought up CVS, don't she have to receive the same salary as the football coach by her contract terms?? Or did that part go away in a new contract?

Went away and I don't think Hobbs will be having to deal with Stringer on another extension , but that's just my opinion based on the contract extension she accepted with only 2 years guaranteed and the last two partial.

I feel Hobbs will prove to be a good judge of coaches, but Ash will be proof if he is or not.

How far are we away from where SHU is now? We'd kill to be where Willard is with SHU.

Not saying Willard is the man, but we are hoping in year 5 to be where SHU has been in all years under Willard.

Julie had negotiated a deal with CVS last year that cut her pay I think to 700k with bonuses if she acheived them Uncle Bobs original deal was insane

6 years without a ncaa bid gets you fired....seton hall has the prior success and is not in an abyss to be satisfied with 500 records like Rutgers is

-------

Of all the hires RU has made over the years, the Stringer hire was the biggest "stain" hire..... We may not have gotten all the way to the promised land with her, but we made a solid effort to do so.

With that comes the inflated salary of such a coach, like it or not.... Adjusting it now seems reasonable enough.

Probably a better topic for future, and separate threads, but when I heard that a spread offense might be utilized at times, Laviano has the rep for being the most mobile of the QBs on the team now..... And might start off with the advantage ...... Of course if another QB is the better passer it makes it a good battle in camp.
